A useful product - that also can be used for hidden in-wing flat servo mounting for bigger planes (where only the servo arm is visible from the outside), but the product can be used ONLY for 30 mm length servo casing (a standard 9 gm servo is 23 mm, some 15-20 gm servos are 30 mm).The paragraph about rating came in the middle of the technical explanation @?!). Sorry (the HK editor took my 'new paragraph' blank lines away and smashed it all together ... No prob, 5 crowns for space saving ...)It is a mount for flat / horizontal mounting of the servo. Neat for wing servos.
It can only be used for servos with length 30 mm (not UP to 30 mm).
Look at the left most item in the picture. Cut out the two small parts and their production support 'rod'. You can clearly see the contour of a servo lying on it's side with its two mounts falling into the upper left and right corner slits.
Rating is meaningless for a 9 gm servo that is too small for the mounting, so we give it a 3 to be polite . But for bigger planes it's a 4-5 crown product.
The four small holes in the lower left/right corners are for small screws going directly into the mounting surface. The two bigger holes on the upper part of the mount are for screws holding the two small plastic parts. They hold the servo in place as they have a small protruding cylinders that enters the servo fastening holes on the left and right side of the servo 'brackets'. The distance from the mounting surface to the servo's 'flat' side is adjustable in two values.
The mount makes a 'cleaner' fit than tape / hot glue / two screws in the servo's own 'brackets' that often goes with vertical mounting.
Horizontal mounting improves control linearity but may reduce the operating angle (travel volume) of the servo arm (it may hit the mounting surface).
