I bought one of these to run the turret traverse on my 1/16 Tiger tank.
I'm really pleased with it as it does it better than the Hitec 1425c that was initially used.
Very precise, nicely slow, and predictable. More accurate positioning using the potentiometer on my T9x.
Great value!Really nice. The winch fits perfectly, unlike the earlier models, and the motion is really smooth. The torque is pretty good and the last 180 degrees of the revolutions slows down to reflect scale action.Makes about 4-5 full revs.The servo I received was unfortunately dead - the electronics were DOA. Because warranty would cost me more than trying to fix it or ordering a new one, I decided to have a go at it.
Repaired it using a cheap std servo as donor.
Servo has plastic gears and a gearbox so as to use a standard pot as feedback, so don't expect chirugical precision on this servo - but then again: what do you expect from such a cheap servo?
Bottom line: If you need a really cheap winch servo for a smaller boat or a non-critical application on a bigger yacht and you are willing to take the risk of a DOA, this winch servo will do just fine for you.
