This isn't an efficient motor

I bought this "spur of the moment"when it was strangely discounted to 105gbp. Plan to strap it to my electric bike at some point.
I've been testing an ESC I'm building with it, it happily suits there and takes 150A for... Forever... I can't get it hot with current
But. When i spin it up, it gets hot fast and takes a lot of power, more than 350W at 2.8krpm.
It's 18n (slot) 20p and has fat wires. Build quality is good but I suspect very thick laminations so it's built cheap.
It's amazing for the price i paid, for 300gbp I'd be disappointed.

Betreibe den Motor mit einer 27x12 Dreiblatt Ls. Akku verwende ich 14s 5000mAh 2P, Die angegebenen 150Kv/V entsprechen nicht der Wirklichkeit.
Derotor dreht bei Vollgas gut 7200U.
Achtung ,nur Kohlefaser LS verwenden, Holz Ls sind für diese Drehzahl nicht frei gegeben. Regler verwende ich einen 400A Regler.
Der Motor ist in meiner Grupp Schleppmaschine mit 3,5m verbaut.

We are running this motor in several aircraft, 3D to Warbirds, its well vented and has been flawless. Makes about 10,000 watts on 14S, run a 26x12 2 blade prop and a 250 amp ESC set at 25-30 degrees timing. we have this on a H9 Pawnee with a custom 6 blade 22 inch x 10 prop, see it at www.rctwinsrich.com

Ich betreibe diesen "Monstermotor" mit 12 und mit 14s!
In beiden Konfigurationen hat er ausreichend Leistung für jedes Flugzeug bis 20 kg Abfluggewicht.
Mein Doppeldecker (Ultimate) mit 2,45 m Spannweite geht endlos senkrecht!
Der Motor ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen!
Man darf jedoch keine Angst vor brachialer Brushlesspower haben.
Viele meiner Fliegerkollegen machen einen großen Bogen um das Flugzeug sobald die Akkus scharf geschaltet sind!

i am running this motor with fat boy speedy on 2x 4x 3s 5000ma turnigy lipo batteries in parallel with a 28x12 pt prop flying 3D getting about 10 minutes flight with about 50pcnt battery charge left hope to learn how to download darta next and will repost the results shortly regards john snr.

Hello everyone, I just bought this motor and Fatboy300 ESC. can someone advice me what size propeller and what battery set up do I need to achieve the MAXIMUM output power (thrust ?). I was thinking to purchase 6 packs of 5cells nanotech 5000mAh, 45C-90C discharge rate. making 15cells 10000mAh unit. Any advice if this is good ? Thank you.

1st: Very good Quality!
2nd: PLEASE OFFER SOME SPARE PARTS FOR THIS MOTOR HOBBYKING!!! I ordered now 3 from this motors. After 2 crashes (my fault), the engine shaft is bent and i think also the front and rear plate (the rotating ones) and also the prop-shank. It would be great, if you can sell these 4 spare parts in your shop Hobbyking!? 300 bucks for this motor is cheap, yes, but too expensive if you must buy a complete new motor after a crash.
3rd: Here are some test results: 2,6m Edge 540t from xtreme composite, flying weight 18kg, Turnigy 2200 mah 12s4p, 26x10 carbon-prop from Hobbyking, 6600 rpm, 150A, torqueroll not really possible, thrust is about also 18kg. 27x10 Carbon-prop from HK, 6300 rpm, 180A, better torque performance but I think a 28x10 Carbon-prop would be perfect for this heavy model! I see some one has sent a test report using 14s lipols. Just a little warning, 14s lipols exceeds 50volt DC . Check your local electrical supply regulations. 95 of the worlds electrical regulators require a registered electrician to work on any thing over this voltage, and to provide an electrical permit! This is because 50 volts DC has the potential to KILL. Please take this warning seriously as criminal charges can result.
