I have hundreds of hours on this motor running with a 6s 5000 and a 15-8 prop on a 60 size Rascal knockoff. I always performs well and runs cool. I get easy 15 minute flights with plenty of capacity to spare. Very nice motor!

Running with a Turnigy 5s5000, plush 60 esc, & 16x10.
I put this in 2 different "60" size airplanes at about 8lbs that previously had glow engines in them. With a 60 glow they would go like a bandit
This engine ran excellent, but performed very weak. A loop was about the max I could expect.
Prop calc showed that with a 5S this motor should have performed much better, so not sure why it was so weak.
Others have said this engine needs a 6S. While I have not tried that yet, I would say that it is probably a must in order to get motor to run equivalent to a 60 glow.

I would tell about this motor THAT I ORDERED A MONTH AND A HALF AGO, AND STILL HAS NOT ARRIVED, AND NOW IM TOLD WOULD BE UP TO ANOTHER MONTH AND A HALF BEFORE THEY WILL SHIP NEW OR REFUND MY MONEY. BUT THEY TOOK MY MONEY IMMEDIATLY. WHAT A RACKET THIS IS. HOBBY KING COMPETITORS MAY CHARGE MORE, BUT AT LEAST THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD BE BETTER. HOBBY KING IS A COMPANY OF THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The motor is excellent, good look and super performance. But the data included are not complete and missing: number of poles, timing( medium or high ?). frequency( 8Khz or 16khz ?). These data are very important when installing the Controller ( ESC ) in order to obtain the best efficiency of thr motor. Can someone tell me those informations?

There are discussions that these motors are the same as eflite. I have one of these and an Eflite 60 and they are not the same. If you look in the can of the Eflite, you will see that the open end of the can has a metal retainer to hold the end of the magnets from sliding around or out. The HK version only has glue at that end and that is where 'eventually' the magnets WILL come loose and and the motor will probably destroy itself. Eflite 60 $100 US, Turnigy G60 $50 US (09/12). Until the magnets are fixed properly, my choice is Eflite with it's 55A continuous. I would bet that my Eflite is running long after my G60 kills itself putting my airplane in jeopardy. G60 going in the Stick, Eflite 60 in the Spit. BTW, I also purchased a SK3 5045 500kv and IT HAS THE RETAINER but not the 450kv version. Looks like HK has seen the light and is STARTING to produce a quality design. Hopefully in a couple of years we won't be having these problems. Now if they can only make a hardened shaft.....
