Overall neither displeased nor impressed -- Probably would not buy again

The kit has a lot of potential but the lack of any instructions (there isn't even a URL to online instructions) is discouraging. It took about three or four days to build (mostly because I used slow cure epoxy to glue it together) and some basic soldering skills.
The most difficult part has tracking down build instructions. Youtube and Google are your friends for the how-to-build info.
Flight wise it has a hard spin that I cannot trim out and since I cannot get it to connect to a PC for firmware updating this drone has been sitting for the last few weeks while other projects get more attention.
I already broke one set of props so I would definitely recommend buying additional props.

Fun To fly but pretty poor quality

There are some turotials on youtube telling you how to set it up. Don‘t get the direction of the motors wrong. Unfortunatelly the cables of the motors break very easily. 20 battery charges and two motor replacements, but great fun flying!!!

Hard to setup

Pretty hard to build right. i had to follow a youtube clip closely and my soldering job failed on one of my quad. Other one works like it should but its very slow and has weak power on my old single cells.

Very hard to build. It took me a while with lots of internet research. Works OK But it's no racer! Very slow with the standard brushed motors. With hardly any lift ability. I wouldn’t expect it to be able to lift a camera (With Battery) for FPV flight.

this is my first and probably last kit from hobbyking unless something I like has stellar reviews. first one came with bad board and the motors just spin as soon as you plug the battery in. so I did the returns stuff and made a video, after a couple weeks they sent another one with a bad board and I don't care about it anymore.

my unit was working correctly, no mosfets problems. This is my first quadcopter ever, though I had some experience with arduino. I used it with goebish firmware. It is very stable and durable, i have had many crashes and it is still flying flawlessly. Overall it is a very nice indoor quadcopter, i fly it everywhere inside the house. I recommand it overall

Fantastic little quad, great and inexpensive way to learn your way around programming a flight controller. No spare parts listed on HK, but look for spare motors and props for the Hubsan x4, they work perfectly!

received my kit 3 days ago, assembly is pretty straight forward if you follow the photos,

pros:
perfect size
integrated frame
integrated dsm2 receiver ( best thing actually)

Cons:
very cheap prop material, they r literally un-usable, (had to go buy hubsan props)
motor quality and wire are quiet inferior, wires very flimsy easily would damage.
3 motors out of 4 vibrate like no tomorrow.
FTDI adapter included stopped working passively after heating up (have to connect battery) even with that sometimes connection keeps dropping.


Verdict: Idea and main board is great, but for the price I think HK shouldn't realy have cut corners on quality of motor/props and acces.

and support not returning emails for some reason !!
