I’m am still in negotiations with HobbyKing over my last order that was more than $1400 when I got stuck with used and abused product. While we are resolving this, HobbyKing has asked me to write a review on their Turnigy RotoMax 150 motors. A bit gutsy on their part. But here’s my honest review of this motor: There’s an old children’s book called ‘The Little Engine that Could’. Well, this motor is the little motor that could. I can’t say enough good things about this motor. I have more than several of the Turnigy RotoMax 150 motors and I have yet to run one even barely above warm. I have put too much load on it and it has yet to get hot or fail. I have puffed a battery and toasted both an ESC and a power analyzer, but that motor keeps on humming. I am experimenting with design and loads so I expect failure might happen, but much to my delight this is the motor “that keeps on ticking’ (a Timex watch metaphor). Whether mounting the motor or the prop or wiring and soldering (use XT-150 connectors), this motor has been heaven to work with. I can only sum up by saying that if you’re thinking of using the Turnigy RotoMax 150, by all means do so. That is, if you can actually get one as they are constantly out of stock. BTW, if your design requires you to put your life into trusting this motor, I plan on trusting my life with this motor. It is a strong buy from me… when comes back in stock. I will try to update this later.

Huge, Massive, That's What She Said

Swings that big ol prop! It's not the most efficient motor in the world, but delivering this much power, I can't complain...I am half-tempted to hold on to the wing myself and let this thing fly me around (I'm kidding, please don't do this, but yeah this thing is crazy powerful)

The software set up/follow up has been sketchy. The videos online used dated window systems so to get my computer to go retro went beyond my limited experience. Good product—complicated software follow up.

Building manned multicopter with 8 rotors. Using with CF 32X10.5 props and 300 amp esc, 12S.
Initial test results have been really good overall: quiet, lots of thrust, does not run hot, easy to install and wire.
I have a lot more testing to do, but I plan on buying 7 more of these.

Smoothest running big RC motor

Unlike CA120, this one has higher inductance and is much easier to run. Is well balanced and runs very smooth and silent. Highly recommend it for an ebike or gokart.
