    Product Description

    The HKPilot Mega Mini is a complete open source autopilot and flight controller system featuring all the same power and features of its bigger brother.

    The HKPilot Mini is creatively redesigned into a much smaller form factor, and yet retains the full functionality and ports from the original, only losing a few analog pins that would not normally be used in a mini sized project. The HKPilot is based on the rapidly evolving and refined Ardupilot mega or “APM”, an open source project from 3DR robotics. This amazing flight controller allows the user to turn any fixed wing, rotary wing, or multi-rotor vehicle (even boats and cars) into a fully autonomous vehicle, capable of performing a wide range of tasks even programmed GPS missions with waypoints. 

    Various user interfaces are available for programing, reviewing logs, even some Apps for smart phones and tablets. The optional telemetry radio allows for two way radio communication giving you full control and provides live data back to your computer or tablet. The list of what this flight controller is capable of has quickly been surpassed with what it cannot, with features, flight modes and supported platforms. The APM project is supported by thousands of users pushing this open source flight controller to be one of the best systems available.

    The Combo Adds the Ubox-6M GPS with onboard compass, as well as the Power module providing data and supply voltage. The combo also has matched plug and play cables to make install a breeze.

    The new HKPilot MEGA Mini loses nothing from its bigger brother, but size and weight and a few analog pins, allowing for smaller and lighter vehicles. The mini is just one more step in the HKPilots evolution.

    This is by far the worst product I've ever purchased from HK. Never was able to set up RTL, external compass not working, GPS not working after firmware update, no documentation for this particular CP available...

    Unit DoA. Flight controller refused to boot up or connect to Mission Planner. This is the second one of these that has wasted my time. I have confgured and successfully flown 3 other (non HobbyKing) APM controllers. There are better quality APM flight controller kits for less money available elsewhere. Don't waste your time and money with these. Would you rather be flying or submitting RMA forms and videos ?

    My order was shipped and received in 5 days, all products were in good order. The Mini Combo is easy to set up and with all included cables had correct color codes and plugged in to the corresponding accessories. The GPS came on line in a few seconds sitting on my work bench and pinpointed my location corresponding with my Garmin GPS. I am looking forward to a test flight and set up on my HK SK450.

    Worked well until the USB connector fell off - poorly soldered. Documentation is minimal, lots of googling needed.

    Very disappointing product. Wrong and misleading colored cables which can lead to burnouts. Low power module output voltage of only 4.86v. Cannot power standard APM combo of FC-Telemetry-OSD-GPS-Compass-Rcvr. Uncalibrated power module will not work in Mission Planner to monitor current(Amps) consumption. Both on-board and external compass cannot be calibrated (Bye bye Stab). Altimeter readings fluctuating even with proper cover (Bye bye Alt/Pos hold). Low output of telemetry cannot drive both OSD and telemetry at the same time. External Compass is also defective and cannot be calibrated. Don't buy. Big hassle you go through just to get it replaced.

    Product works well and installs just like the full sized unit. Only down side to this configuration is that it will not arm if it is warm out. If the temperature is above 80 degrees outside or has been sitting in the sun briefly, it simply will not arm until cooled off.
