I've used this Red Brick 50A ESC in a 43" Corsair foam ARF. It's with the Turnigy G10 1200kv motor and a Turnigy 2650mah 4s 20C battery. With an 8x8 APC speed prop, it pulls 50.42 amps as measured on my wattmeter at full throttle.

The ESC does sound funny when it initializes. The beeps are very quiet. It came with the motor brake ON. So, I did the programming and shut the brake OFF.

The motor spins up smooth with this ESC. I've only flown the plane 4 times but it's worked perfectly. I would recommend it.

I'll try to amend this review if I have any problems with it.

Bought one of these but did not work properly. It was replaced under warranty. After a long wait (out of stock) new one arrived. Guess what?? That had the same fault as the last one. Given up now and can't be bothered with Red Brick anymore. Going to try something else. Probably the Blue Series ones.
Come on HK improve your QA.

It's not a good esc. It resets after turning other servo's. Spend more money on a better one.

The esc is not ready,,, what issue?
what could be wrong? At start, sometimes change rotation, and then does not stop, pull off if the throttle. or they die, only that the battery is reconnected be good? What's the problem?

I, like other reviewers have major issues with this ESC. The name calls it a "Brick" it's nearly as functional as one for controlling a brushless motor.

Unlike all of the other Red Brick ESC's, the menu for this one is parsed down to 3 options: 1: NiMh Battery 2: LiPo Battery and 3: Brake on/off.

It's clear that this ESC is meant for motors with a certain range of poles, my motor has 9 poles and this thing can't manage to go to 0 throttle without some major issues. It makes a horrible mechanical noise and hesitates when at 0 throttle. After a short while it stops functioning entirely and you're forced to reboot it to get it turning again.

I need a full refund. I have a video of the issue uploading as I write this.
