X-GYRO 1000 is a two axis head tracking system, based on G sensor technology, designed for tracking complicated three-dimensional motion like head movement and so on, it can also be used on the areas of controlling drones and robots, transferring three-dimensional motion signals from hands, head of human to corresponding movement system on RC model, drone or robot.
The basic version of X-GYRO 1000 is specially designed for RC models with FPV(First Personal Version), it can be used perfectly with main stream transmitters or to be co-operated with wireless high frequency modular independently. It can transfer the movement signals to transmitter, and the transmitter can send out signals of head movement or position of head( on two axis), so that the real synchronization can be realized when screen on the goggles displayed video pictures, users can look around as if he were inside the RC model. Since it is compatible with transmitters in todays market, it is easy and straight forward to use. Its best advantage is that there is no need to have any fixed reference object to check and measure the inflection position of RC model, and no drift at all when it is in a stationary state compared with other products that need to make use of very complicated reference facilities or manual controlled transmitters.

Specifications:

Power: 8V to 12V DC power supply. Some
transmitters, especially those FUTABA ones, can supply power directly by trainer
connector. (ex. T9Z, FF9C). Some transmitters cannot supply power to X-GYRO, for
example 14MZ and 12FG. The simplest solution is to use an extra battery for those RC transmitters. The connector is already included in package.
Size: 25mmX35mm
Weight:20g
Range for measuring: +-90 degree/second rotational speed movement.

Default Setting:

Channels: X axis- channel 7 Y axis-channel 8
Detective range G45 degree

Choice for transmitters;
FUTABA:
(FF-7, FF-8, FF-9, T9Z, T12MZ, T14MZ)
Graupner: (MC20, MC24, MX22)
Multiplex transmitter: (Royal Evo, Cockpit SX, mc4000)
JR and other transmitters without programmable channel: (9303, 9X)

not impressed with the tracking capability of this unit. add a 3 axis Accelerometer and Magnetometer. and you might have something worth buying.

When trying to use with the 9XR and Futaba plug, you have 2 choices solder some wires and hope, or the following. The Futaba plug has 2 ppm wires JR only uses one (HT only uses one) so simply open the radio, unplug harness for Futaba plug (right side) and unplug the JR plug (left side) and plug the Futaba port into that socket. This allows the HT to work with no soldering and no change in settings minus adding the PPM signals to the right channels. Other then that seems to work great and no issues on my Bix3.

Good little unit. Naturally I had to hack it... I pulled it out of the case and found that it would fin inside the tiny air space of a FatShark Predator V2 goggle. Added a 3.5mm jack and wired up the switch and glued it in place and Voila... a Predator goggle with built in head tracker. Works perfectly.

This head tracker drifts very badly, it is fairly useless as you will be resetting the center every 10 seconds literally!
it is not worth a purchase

Got this up and running with the FrSky Taranis. The Taranis is a great match for the gyro, as it's got plenty of programming possibilities. It did require some soldering of a JR-style trainer connector, however not on a too difficult level.

For all those asking "does this work with radio X", check if your radio can assign custom channels to the trainer connector. If that's the case, it will work for your radio, but may require some soldering work. The two connectors shipped with the unit fit the 6-pin square connector and 6-pin large DIN which both are for Futaba radios.

I got one a while back, works with Hitec Eclipse 7 (72mhz) But now I use it with my Turnigy 9x (2,4ghz) You will need to re-locate the reset button to the transmitter because the drift is really annoying and you will be constantly resetting it. I wasn't impressed. I have the round connector spare if anyones interested. RC Groups - Headspin

My gyro is drifting so much on one of the channels that it make it useless, I can only use it as a one axis gyro.
The soldering inside the gyro was very badly made with damage on the connectors.
The same thing in the Futaba trainer plug.
The reset switch is glued inside the plastic case. The same thing with the circuit board, it is only fixated in glue inside the plastic case.
I would not recommend this product.
