The HobbyKing® ™ Bird Plane is a discus launch glider that is small in size, but big on fun. The compact flying wing design is perfect to throw in your car for those impromtu flying sessions. Small in size, excellent construction quality and a high level of pre-assembly, all at a price that can't be beat!

The airframe is built from balsa and covered in genuine Oracover Light film covering. This structure is strong and very light thanks in part to the carbon fiber main wing spar and hardwood leading edge. The Bird Plane arrives fully built with two 3.5 gram servos pre-installed. Since every pilot has different preferences, the Bird Plane has a mount in both wing tips for the launch peg. Even the pushrods come installed. The only thing you need to do is drop in your 2+ channel micro receiver, battery, program your radio, and fly!

Features:
• Plug and Fly - Just install your own receiver and battery

Well made, and easy to get in the air.
I've put the battery in the space behind the normal compartment by cutting the cover film on the bottom of the plane in order to get the CG right as it was nose heavy with the battery in the front compartment.
With the CG in the correct position it flys beautifully and glides well. Reduced elevator throw as it is very pitch sensitive. Doesn't launch as high by DLG as my HK mini dlg but it is lighter, more maneuvreable and will stay inside a smaller thermal.

Well built except the cg is impossible to achieve with all of my electronics in the canopy. This is a terrible DLG though, flying wings are not stable enough to be launched like that. An empennage is required for the stability a DLG needs to be launched properly. With that said, I imagine this would be a great slope soaring glider on a light wind day.

great product well built. watch out because is says to have a setup 0f 30 grams plus- 5 grams. my setup was 33.7 grams and it wasn't close to balancing out. i ended up with a setup of about 15 grams to balance it out. i used a 1s battery and a 3.7 gram receiver for power.

Very nice little plane. Construction seems durable and light. As previously said, you must take care to have the lightest electronic as possible, in order to achieve the right CG.

Tested at the slope, it appears to be a nice player, able to do some acrobatics.

Bird plane doesn't deliver performances as a real F3K, but much fun !

The bird plane was delivered within three days from the Netherlands and was well packaged. Only insert the remaining components and determine the CG and ready. The plane flies well, But it has to have the proper throwing technique. I like the plane and have a lot of fun.

Good quality for the price but one servo was dead on arrival. I could repair it by soldering one cable at the connector and as well at the servo electronic (both broken).
CG 50mm is too far aft, after the first flights I fixed it at 45mm. The given battery weight (30g) is way too much. My whole package (1s 300mAh battery receiver voltage booster) weights all together 18g which fits good if you place it in the middle of the rc-bulk. The model flies good, it's pretty fast compared to high-end DLG's and is not able to fly very long at weak conditions. All together a good deal, a lot of fun with a minimum of work.

Arrived very well packed (double Boxed).
Build is all straight and true. Great job on the ultralight film covering.
Unfortunately the launch peg on wingtip is glued in, so to swap sides you will need to cut off and source another dowel/peg.
The supplied preinstalled servos (both) in my bird are very jittery. fortunately the servos can be swapped out by peeling back two patches on the underside of wing. Will post again when swapped servos and flight tested.

overall good value.
