Accessories

Last chance price!!! this model is no longer in production. There are only a few left in stock and we are clearing them out under cost price!! (dont tell the boss!) When they are gone they are GONE! you will never find a deal like this again.

The HobbyKing® ™ SU-29 is a superbly priced and nice sized 3D/Aerobatic model that is just the ticket for some low cost 3D fun.

The lightweight airframe is suprisingly well made given the price and the bright covering is perfect for orientation. The quality of the hardware is also a suprise given the price and includes CF control horns & wing tube, piano wire control rods and a comprehensive package of fasteners, etc. As you would expect from a model of this size, it is also practical with plug in wings and a large canopy secured by strong magnets.

If you are looking for an aerobatic model that is both cheap to buy and to build, this great looking Sukhoi is just the job!

Final configuration is to power the SK3 with a Zippy Compact 5S. Yeehaw!!! Straight up until out of sight. Now to start experimenting with greater control throws.

Review update: I've re-motored it with the Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 4240-740kv spinning a 13x7 prop. 4S 2650 Nanotech and Turnigy Plush 60amp ESC. Have been able to remove all the lead ballast from the cowl and still move the battery further aft while maintaining good CG range. It will now prop hang and go vertical until I decide to stop. As it should, this plane stays in the attitude where you last pointed it and does not self correct. For example, ease off on top of a loop and it just flies away inverted until you do something about it. Go into a shallow dive and it will keep on until it hits the ground unless you pull up. Keeps you very focused. It can fly incredibly slowly! I can haul up the nose, maintaining constant altitude, and it just seems to slowly come to a stop in mid air before gently lowering a wing and stalling out. Glides in like an eagle for a slow flair and touches down like an autogyro. Only gripes are the canopy magnets were poorly glued causing the canopy to pop off and the airframe is so light I accidentally broke a fuselage stringer picking it up. However, for $110AUD I think this is a fantastic plane.

Excellent packaging...box within box separated by airbags, so no damage. Quality of airframe and covering is excellent with no warps. Instructional CD was blank!! Downloaded Sebart PDF. Some minor discrepancies but if you have experience then no problems. Fabricated torsion box for LG mounting plate with two extra blocks...epoxy and install with tweezers...tricky. Added drag links of thin piano wire from first bulkhead back to upper portion of each gear leg. LG is now very robust. Tricky getting wheels into wheel pants. Used non-locking nut in inner side (not supplied) and lock nut on outer end. Cowling is very difficult to match up with hatch/canopy. Made a dummy foam bulkhead to force cowling up at back end to allow hatch to slip underneath. Seems to work. Installed Turnigy L3010B-1300 Brushless Motor (420w) which was going to be for smaller Yak 54. Plane was tail heavy and had to add 150gm of lead to cowling plus 2 x 3s 2200mAh packs in parallel to achieve CG. RTF weight 1900 gms, nevertheless it did fly on this motor. Removed 1 x 3s pack for 2nd flight and CG was still OK. Flew better, but have SK3 42-40 motor on order. Very stable flight, predictable yet responsive even on low throws, nice glide and moderate touchdown speed. Gorgeous looking plane. Recommended but only 4 stars overall because of blank CD and poor cowling fit.

The model has a very good structure and

rigidity, covered with so-so, as well as

manufacturing quality.motorama looking shaky, it is

necessary to strengthen the wings to

create one cool , pleased with the

equipment and carbon =) in other matters

will collect and look for flaws in the

assembly, and so d so the maximum score

of 4, not bad for printsape hobbiking
