So after a few months, 1000's of batts, 2 motors, 2 servos and idk how many crashes, flops, drops and uhohs... I'm amazed with this plane. I'll be moving on now but I don't think I could have picked a better plane to learn 3d on! There are now idk 12? more at the field I fly. Big hit and everyone loves them!

Instructions easy to follow, flying weight a little heavier than suggested at 533gm including a 91gm 1000 Mah 3s battery, but I built using liberal amounts of polyurethane glue for a robust finish. Soaked in around the carbon rods for the wing and body this glue gave me a very stiff craft. With COG at recommended 120-130mm, the Hummer flies well and seems the right model for first steps in 3d/aero flying. 5 minute flight duration, no crashed in first ten flights. Really happy with how this turned out, may get another one eventually and try to build lighter once I gain some experience.

I've been trying 3D maneuvers with non 3d planes and wanted more so I jumped into 3d with this one. I'm getting better every day. If I do my part it does every 3d move much more precisely than I expected from so reasonably priced a plane. i used white gorilla glue to glue the foam parts and motor mount together, ca to glue the carbon rods in and hot glue to hold the servos in. I stacked up wood blocks to hold the airframe flat and true while the glue set up and it is flat and true and flies great. Electronics are Turnigy D2830/11 1000kv motor w 10x4.7sf prop, HK blue 30 amp esc, HK939mg analog servos and r610v2 rx. I started with the cog at 120mm from leading edge next to the fuse. I then repeatedly flew and balanced the plane per Michael Wargo's 3d instructions on RCGroups and wound up with the cog at 126mm back. The flying weight varies from 530 grams to 580 depending on batteries from 1000mah to 1500mah

Put it together with epoxy (wing and tail and motor mount), UHU POR (CF rods), and hot glue (horns, servos) in about 3 hours. You'll need servo extension wire for the tail servos to reach your RX. You'll need to enlarge the control horns to fit the stop linkages. You'll need to flew or work the aileron surfaces about 30 times so they'll loosen up a bit. The CG is perfect per the manual. I've flown this 5 times now. No bad habits at all. This plane flies very nicely for any and all 3D move you want to to. My flying weight is 520 grams with a 3S 1000 mah lipo, 450 motor 890kv, 20 amp ESC, 10 X 4.7 slow fly prop. Five minutes flight time average or 4 minutes with aggressive 3D. This is my second build because I enjoyed the first one so much, I had to have a second one.

I was surprised how well she flies,... only equipped with a 2830/11 engine. I do some 3D, but had the idea to use it for FPV, because it tracks well and needs only few throttle on horizontal flight.(10 -11 minwith on old 1500mAh 3S> just 3.6V at the end)
To compensate the additional FPV gear (808#16/10 to 600 mw VTX/ cables) I willl install a 2836/8 next year. Maybe I link to some YT videos later..A photo is already on the hummer topic on RCG Happy flying, dudes.

Perfect plane for affordable price. Easy to build ( took about 3 hours of lazy job). Super flying.
The building instruction is not very complex, shows some random pictures but there is almost not possible to make a mistake during the build . This plane was the first plane with ailerons , which has flown my son and I believe I could not make a better choice. Ideal to gain some flying experience. Thanks for that Hobbyking!
