I'm using these in a scratch built 1/16 scale 737-300. For the price I think they are amazing. Two of them fly my 16lb 737 in a very scale manner. It's cruising speed at half throttle is more than you would think. On 6s 5000mah 60-120C packs at full throttle they pull about 74amps. You can see the bird here. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2000839

Hobbyking- If I buy 8 at a time can I get a discount?

I did a static balance on the rotor. Put it onto the aircraft. First power up, there was some pretty serious vibrations. In my troubleshooting, I removed the rotor and testing again, vibration was still there! The motor was out of balance!! Haven't got round to balancing the motor fly it anyway, made a hell of a racket!

Using 3700mah 35C 6s, got around 53A a little under 1200W on the plane. A little disappointed! Will get round to balancing the motor at some point in time, maybe things will improve.

Also, 3:30 mins flight leaves the motor pretty hot, almost cannot touch! Only 3 stars, saving grace is that it is cheap.

When I received my two fan units I was very pleasantly impressed by the finish and presentation of this 90mm fan motor combo. I bench ran each of them on 4 cells & Turnigy Dlux 55A ESC to check balance & throttle response - very smooth and a surprising amount of thrust considering only 4 cells. These units are destined for a conversion of an old Maratuka Cessna Citation I have had stored in the workshop roof. It should fly an absolute treat with these fan units.
I'll post some pictures & further feedback after I get it into the air.

The motor gets warm quickly at 60A.
Did not measured trust, but it is powerfull.

This is the best 90mm EDF one can get for so little bucks. I have 2 of these in FlyFly MiG-29. Static thrust is about 2kg INSIDE the airplane which is actually very good result. The thrusts like 2.8kg or more are usually measured outside with intake lip. The tests were done with cheap 6S/5000mAh/15C Zippy LiPo, 60A, 1200W. With harder battery it would do more. I also did initial test by pulling 3000mAh from battery with full power and the motor took it without problems. Some ballancing is needed (like for any EDF) but this can be easily done by putting some tape into the front cone.

Bought two. First was not balanced at all... so here goes the rotor!!! kaboum into million pieces, so I learned my lesson no to be lazy lol...second needed balancing too and so, I did. Tested on 8S,5000mA turnigy with a dlux160 esc. Max static thrust was at 2.7Kgr at 2250W. I think amps were 75A. I tried to push it even further but the motor wouldn't "respond" !!! so it is a waste to use more than 7S. Expect 2.3Kgr from 6S nanos and 2.7Kgr at 7S nanos. 8S is useless and a waste of money and weight. Motor will overheat too. Good day to you all and happy flying...
