Hi all. You HAVE to change the ESC. I have just crashed when flying three quarter throttle, just doing circuits.....the ESC over heated and seized (I thought it had burnt out). I had no controls, it simply went down. Lucky it was 3 clean breaks. At some stage you will crash if u dont change it. It is a tiny ESC. All the best.I modified it with red velocity RC-Castel 64mm - 4S 2200Mah - 60 ESC EFlite. See Files section. Great upgrade but I don't know the exact position of GC. Finish is great for the price but the decal applications a little lackluster.
All servos and ESC and fan all work on arrival no problems there.
I opted not to fit the gear, it hand launched just fine no issues there.
At 40 - 50pcnt power a major harmonic in the EDF ( needs balancing )
Otherwise EDF smooth.
Overal a little under powered on stock setup using Turnigy 3S 2200 30-40C on stock setup. Recommend putting something a little more lively inside and this beautiful jet would be a real head turner.
Handles just great with heaps of elevator authority. C ofG is just right from the Engrish manual. Just gett that battery as far back as you can.

10 flge ohne jede probleme, allerdings max 10 sekunden vollgasBellissimo modello vola divinamente io ho tolto il suo motore originale che molto fiacco e gli ho montato il motore con il suo regolatore EDF64 Brushless Power System 3500kv & 45A ESC dal costo di circa 30 euro lo consiglio anche per l'ottima qualit del materiale.Modello molto bello, rifiniture al top in volo strepitoso con batterie lipo 1600/4s, preciso e veloce lo consiglio.I took the wheels off mine and now it goes great. Very stable and easy to land and can be fast if you want it to but flies great slowly. I am very happy with mine and I recomend it to any one looking for their first jet.I found this model grossly underpowered and barely able to fly away after a hand launch, then its a handful too keep in the air.
it may help with more power, i was using a 3 cell 2200 mah pack.
Looks good well made nice finish. I am going to put in a better fan unit.
good luck.I have the L-39 for some time now. Overall it's a very nice scale jet. Main wing airfoil seems to be a ClarkY 8pcnt. The wing area is quite small for the wing load on this model. Tips for your first flight: Don't use the Y-cable for the ailerons. Use a 2-channel aileron setup. You need flaperons for a clean, scale like start. As the wing area is quite small, the wing enters tip stall easily if speed is too low. For clean, scale like landings, use flaperons, too. 1300mAh Lipo is good for a nice CG, but bad for usable flying time. A 2200mAh/3S/20C LiPo needs about 15g additional tail weight, but it's worth the effort. Aerobatics with this model? Use a 4800kv 26xx EDF motor with a 50A ESC. Landing gear needs additional glue. Elevator stock servo is useable. Replace the aileron servos to stay happy.
