Grabbed one of these on sale, very good deal, Thanks HK. Converted to gasoline and spark ignition right from the start with a kit from morris mini motors. Also added Keleo exhaust ring which sounds awesome. Put it on the test stand flipped with starter and fired up almost instantly. Very very smooth running motor, almost no vibration at all. Pleased so far. will probably go in yak55 to test reliability before going into P47. Side note: if ordering fom Morris mini motors make sure to specify NO SUBSTITUTIONS as I was sent a different fuel pump than was in the discription.

Truly an awesome engine

This was one of my first purchases from these folks years ago. The engine went on a giant scale p-47 kit I got from Top Flite. It was slightly too large to fit in the cowl but I didn't care one bit. Just had to make a modification. It ran great from te very first startup and has never failed me. I used it in conjunction with a glow system for a 5 cyl engine and just have nothing but reat things to say about it. I got it at th time for 699 If I remember correctly. It took forever to be in stock however. I had to come back and check every day for about 6 weeks before it actually arrived in stock and I got it right away. It sold out about 3 or 4 hours after being in stock so guys don't give up just be patient and check often. Thanks hk for a great engine

Hi guys. There are some reported engines that a dry assembled. causing some damage during start..advise to fill engine crank case with fuel to lube bearing before starting.

I bought mine from hobbyparts but...
I've had this now for a few months and it is an awesome engine. I use a m'cdonald (sonic tronic) 5 cyl glow driver as with all radials the bottom cylinders tend to drop out at low speeds. A 1600 milliamp 4.8 v. battery will drive the glow driver for about 22 - 25 min. From the moment I took it out of the box and prepared it to run I have been impressed with this engine. I took it apart first because there were a few that had issues inside, one with a broken clip and one with shavings. Mine was perfect. I reassembled it and set it on my test stand, used my torque starter to flip it over a few times, hit the glow button and vroommmm!! started right up. The engine has always started very easy, no need for a starter, a flip or two and its off to the races :-). I just cannot say enough about this engine. Has great torque and power for such a little radial.
Get two, or get three, you still wont spend as much as OS charges for the same engine with their name stamped on it.

Great engine! I put this on 97" Gee Bee Y.
It turns 22x8 prop about 6800~7000rpm.
Tons of power, I would get one more for 25 WACO YMF5.

Trs bon moteur avec un bruit extra, plus de puissance et 3 fois moins cher que l'OS 5 cylindres!
Comme trs souvent avec ASP et les autres SANYE, il faut reprendre tous es rglages des culbuteurs avant la mise en service car il n'y a pas assez de jeu et donc les soupapes ferment mal.
Pour les glow plugs, les OSF sont bien mais consomment beaucoup (2.8A). J'utilise des ROSSI RFS qui ne consomment que 1.7A. a fait quant mme 5.5 A de moins pour le glow driver.
Pour s'assurer de ne pas teindre un cylindre au ralenti, la solution s'appelle Microsens GLOW5LP.
Ce moteur est bas sur l'ensemble cylindre piston culasse culbuterie du 80 ASP. J'ai aussi un 80 et aucun soucis avec, j'ai donc bon espoir avec ce 400 5 cyclindres.
