This test stand is clear and straight forward. Measures thrust in grams. Works up to 90mm on the brackets and I used some heat shrink tubing to reduce the vibration and fit fan housings without tabs on the side to measure thrust. Just run a good length of tubing through the mounting brackets and cradle the fan housing to the unit and tie the heat shrink at the top. You could also substitute with fuel tubing as well. I would only use this method with smaller edf fan housings. 50mm to 70mm. Most EDF fan housings after 70mm have mounting tabs anyways so this method is pretty self explanatory. Really easy to use and works very well. I would recommend this to a friend.

Just received one of these stands in the mail. The stand is nicely machined of aluminum and has a universal sliding mount with screws that is easily adjustable for different sized EDFs. The only thing is that the EDFs have to have a mounting bracket on them so they can be bolted to the stand. The control panel has several selection buttons but the only one that worked on mine was the on/off button. The mode button which is suppose to select between grams and ozs did not work. Also not sure what the Tare button does as mine does nothing. I will see if HK can send me a new control panel. Considering the inability to select the oz mode, I still have used the stand to test several EDFs. The thrust measurement appears to be very accurate. If you are heavy into EDFs, this stand is a must to allow you to safely test EDFs for balance and allow you to try different power setups. Low stars due to the control panel problem otherwise a great piece of kit.

Some have complained about this being expensive, but actually it is a fairly heavy piece of tooling. You buy tooling once and use for many years, it is unlikely you will get many years out of one edf unit!

The only thing I had a problem with was that the pins soldering the LCD onto the board had not been cut short. After you put the AA batteries in, those pins interfered with the battery location, so I had to cut them short.

One thing I would have liked to see is some form of protective shroud covering the edf unit when you are testing, would give a better sense of safety should you have a fan disintegrating on you during the test. I hasn't happened to me yet. Touch wood!
