Introducing the Durafly Tundra, No Limits flying!

From the beginner pilot to the experienced flier this plane will do it all. The Tundra is an extremely versatile plane that is easy to fly and would make an ideal club trainer whilst still being highly entertaining for the experienced pilot with aerobatics and excellent vertical performance.

Whether it is flying from rough fields, water, snow or sand, the Tundra takes on all with ease. The Tundra has a wide flight envelope making it ideal for FPV flying, aerobatics, glider towing, candy dropping or just good old-fashioned super STOL slow flying,

The tough EPO foam construction is beautifully finished with a great look. Its lightweight design coupled with a powerful brushless set-up instantly gives you a feeling of confidence on the sticks as quickly as it puts a smile on your face.

This rugged and reliable plane can also get into those tight and hard to land places with its huge flaps and extreme STOL performance. The large main wheels make it easy to land just about anywhere. Swap out the wheels for the supplied floats and you'll be flying from lakes, streams and other waterways.

A quick change to the FPV canopy will give you more extreme fun flying. More excitement can be found utilizing the built-in tow fitting for towing your friend’s gliders to the best thermals. Our upgraded Tundra Sports Model also comes with new wing connectors to minimize build time and increase the portability of this RC plane.

Simply put the Tundra is an immense amount of fun to fly and you will be flying soon enough due to a very straightforward and speedy assembly process.

Some neat optional extras are the addition of skis for fun on snow. Take on the very best mother nature can throw at you and still come up smiling. With the Tundra, there are no limits!

trouble with CG, bad elevator.

could not get CG right instructions says put battery all way up front. plane would dive down, too nose heavy. moved battery under wing still dived down. bad design on elevator, tips turned up. had to remove and flatted out.

Great Plane

This is such a great plane, and I love that it can take off from grass with ease. My only issues were that when I put the plane together, I realised that the elevator was twisted so the edges weren't the same and I couldn't tell if it was level or deflecting slightly up or down. I quickly found out when it took a good 20m to take off in low rates and wanted to dip down. After a quick adjustment, this thing flew great. I highly recommend that the high rate throws for the elevator are used in low rates as it needs a bit more authority. The tail wheel also came off on second landing, so I just put it back on and wrapped some hot glue around the end. The plane has been flying great with no issues ever since.

Fun plane to fly, and well worth the $$. Carbon fiber prop lasts only one strike so suggest getting a few APC's or similar to go with. Landing gear bends but easy to bend back. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Screws are bagged labeled so super easy to ID.
Overall a great plane with alot of potential - cant wait to try it on 4S

Bought the Tundra and found two problems, one servo was completely seized up, which HobbyKing replaced in a matter of days and the wheels on mine were that soft that the tyres kept coming off the rims so I purchased harder compound ones.
Other than that a great plane to fly. A few members in my club also have the Tundra

Motor mount broke

On the fifth flight the plastic motor mount broke away from the foam inside breaking the prop in the process. the motor now is off centre touching the cowl. despite me sending Hobbyking a picture of the motor touching the cowl my complaint was rejected as they said they could not identify the fault. I would suggest looking at a new model to see that the motor should be central not touching the side of the cowl. I will try and repair it myself it will be less trouble in the long run.

Fliegt wirklich super. Ist zudem sehr robust. Mir ist jedoch am Anfang ein Servo weggeraucht, weil die gegenläufig sind. Das sollte man definitiv vorher beachten.
