Light weight and low noise fans

Oct 10, 2019

Thank you for the smooth response from ordering to shipping. Goods arrived very quickly and safely despite international transport. Thank you.
Light weight and low noise fans are happy.
I will continue to use Hobby King.

Heaps of grunt, is pulling 28amps constant at WOT with a 1000mah 3s 25c and 30amp esc, won't fit in my 50mm mini F-86 Sabre, I will have to grind the lip off at the entrance to the fan blades to get it in,.... On the bench it has a minor? shudder at very low RPM but as you throttle up it smoothen's right out, and it screams like a banshee! hopefully I'll get a good run out of it before it detonates the fan blades..LOL!!

I bought this to go into a Skyangel 50mm F18. It will fit, but not without some pretty significant cutting. The actually diameter is correct, the problem is the 'bell' flared out portion at the edf inlet. There is not room for this in the skyangel jets, so foam must be cut to accommodate the flared out portion. So if you're buying this for a skyangel series jet, just be aware that it is not a direct plug and play solution.

Definitly does not work with 3s. Busted under 12V. The holes over the housing causes pressure and drop.

This motor combo is one of the best,to replace the stock motor in any 50mm edf jet. Very little work needed to fit, gives my mini F9F Wicked power now it's fast..

If you need a replacement rotor for this unit, buy the 50mm 5 blade replacement rotor for HK's alloy 50mm EDF units. After carefully sanding down the blade tips (it's just a little too big), remove the shaft adapter from the EDF (2 small grub screws) and use a long prop adapter with aluminum cone for a 3mm shaft (PRODUCT ID: PA-3MM-5MM-C). This adapter has a 5mm output shaft and the rotor fits nicely. Rescued mine this way after breaking 2 of the blades off on a hard landing.

this little edf is the best upgrade at a good price i have found, i am getting 520gr of thrust (one the bench must be a lot more when flying and getting load of air in the intake) using a 3s lipo this at 26A. i have installed one in my 50mm F35 (so much glue on it it now weight 610gr) and i can achieve vertical flight easy, will installed one in my 50mm F18 soon... i have tried many other 50mm edf but have not so far been able to match the spec of this one.

Holy SUCKS DOWN POWER batman!! Great little (VERY fast) EDF for 50mm backpet jets.. but BEWARE: YOU DO NOT GET MUCH TIME TO ACT, ONCE THE BATTERY IS DEPLETED TO WARNING LEVEL!!

Again, very fast EDF (will make a 50mm backpacker a ROCKET SHIP) but I am getting sub-2 minutes on 1000mAh 35c 3s zippy compact. (GREAT packs for 4300kv, but NOT for 5800!!). I need to experiment with 20c packs and also timing to add some run time. AGAIN, YOU DO NOT GET MUCH TIME IN THE AIR - but the time you are airborne, the plane will GO LIKE HELL.

Physically: Fit is not too bad - install was easier than most HK reviews make it sound - you need to create a small indent to accommodate the EDF's lip - it takes all of 5 minutes, and that's doing it properly and carefully!

WEIGHT: Another note - BE ADVISED - this EDF weighs more than the OEM 50's by some bit.. enough to = MANDATORY REBALANCE! (Yes, I am also guilty of the common mistake of overlooking balancing!) I flew my F-18 maiden with this EDF and used standard pack location.. WHOA BETTY!! The thing flew like an ass heavy pancake!! (Had tons of thrust tho!!) It was ridiculous looking - Looked like I was making a low speed high alpha pass with thrust vectoring - Luckily, I got it to the ground with no problems.. Bottom Line: BALANCE THE DAMNED AIRCRAFT!! (I needed to remove some foam from the nose-gear block to allow pack to slide fo

My first one was a bad example; bought 3 more and they are better - they came with isolation on motor wires and running better. still some vibes during first 1/3 throttle range, but less than my first one. makes the 50mm jas-39 gripen nice flying. takes 29A and offers 355gr static - this will increase in flight up to a 1:1
ratio for the 405gr plane (with 3s 1300). real power is still far away from
manufacturs values which are fantasy.
Think this is the best (price/value rating) what you can get for the little skyangels
at this time - when changing to 30A ESC and bigger lipos - up to 1300 ...

Great little package, spec are spot on. Running a turn 1.0 25C 3S @ 12.6 volts on static test was pulling 32A and 348 W. Pretty close to advertised sepc. Put in Blitzworkz F-86 50mm. great motor for the backpack EFDs!!
