One crash and trash. (or even drop!)
As stated in a review on the west cost wearhouse the shafts are way to long and they break easily. I ordered these knowing that.

Well on one the shaft broke off trying to unscrew the spinner out of the box! Yes yes yes I was turning it the correct direction. The screw adapter is part of the plastic bell! As you may know plastic screws dont always have clean threading and they do not work right. That is the case with these motors.

Biggest cons: crappy plastic threaded prop shaft, plastic breaks very easily, plastic gets brittle in cold weather, threaded plastic prop shaft too long (1" screw, 1/4" bolt = 3/4" unusable space) so you can not tighten down propellers with out multiple adapter rings (major flaw!)
Pros: they work well, produce a great amount of thrust

Overall: I really like these motors & that's why I dislike them. You'll get attached quickly and enjoy them then they break quickly and the can not be repaired! One crash and trash! Then you miss them. I'm going elsewhere and buying their metal versions.

I bought this for a 160 quad I am building. I haven't flown it yet as I am halfway through the build, but I am not impressed so far. The nut on the motor doesn't come down far enough to clamp 4045 props, and the shaft is very thin so some kind of adaptor will be needed. The wires coming from the motor are extremely thin (literally 2 strands of copper) and they actively repel solder once they are cut down, and they are practically impossible to tin, making them very awkward to solder onto the ESCs.

If I can actually find some way of making my props fit, so I can actually fly the quad, I may add to this review.

Wish I'd bought DYS.

These are good value motors, but until it is possible to get propellers that fit the shaft and can be clamped down by the bolt they are not possible to use properly. EMAX will have to find a supply of compatible propellers if they want to sell more of these. Excellent value and performance, but I have not been able to find propellers in cw & ccw that fit without a lot of adapting, and I can not find the recommended sizes only poorly fitting 4045 propellers.

I just have these small motors for 2 days, The setup i have is on a Warpquad 200, Naze afro, sat lemon rx, 5030/5045 gemfan, Turnigy 950 2s / 850 3s, Kiss 12A oneshot.

With 5030 and 950 2s the motors have a little hard time when you make a big loop and if you not give full throttle on time it will land on the ground. The lift power is not so good. With 5045 it's a little better. When attach a 850 3s you can really feel the quad is comming alive. Although as a beginners flying in LOS, i feel the 5030 is nice to learn to turn 180/360. Its slow so you have time to correct.

I have little crashes a few times these 2 days. each day fly around 20 minutes, i see on 2 motors that it has little problems. When arming sometimes the motor is making weird movement like it is stuck then when i punch the throttle it spins again. Today 1 of the motors also doing this weird movement, so i opened the motors and the middle coil wire to the ESC was broken. The quality is not so good it seems. The outer side of the motors feels sturdy but the inside coil wires are so tiny that it brakes easy. good i ordered 4 of these boxes to replace it. And i won't buy it again.

I used these on a small cargo twin based on a Flite Test design and they work great. One motor has a stutter start, but pulls well after initial spinup. Used the 4.5x3 props and pulls this 220g AUW plane around nicely on 2 cell (7.4v) with 10 a plush ESCs.
