Nasty smell

Seems to print ok. However it has a nasty plastic smell, not the usual sweet PLA smell.

I thought I get an update on this filament. The grey has turned out to be really bad. It seems someone bend the filament every other few inches and it's just badly wound. Why is this important, because it has actually caused clogs on an almost unclog-gable printer. It seems to keep breaking due to the bends every other few inches. I'm half way through the roll and man, it's really making me pull my hair. I unclogged it a few times and bam, it just craps out right before the part gets done. The good thing is that I'm just trying to get some small test part done, but still, not cool. So it looks like these are a bit too brittle for whatever reason. I still have some of the others I got and they haven't been as bad as this one. I hope it's just a bad batch, but so far I won't hold my breath.

I'm now testing this filament and although it extrudes fine on the Craftbot I have had a lot of stringing with it. I have adjusted the retraction and print at slower speed of 60 mm/s. I have also just re-leveled my bed because I was having problems with it not sticking well on my kapton tape. So I cleaned it and re-leveled the bed. The first layers are going down well, but it's still makes blobs here and there. I guess the word for this would be a bit gummy at times so doesn't want to stay down in some areas. Sure it could be my settings too buy I have printed many other large parts before and with other filaments too. So far at least this one doesn't seem as brittle as the black one which kept breaking every time I went to change the filament on the printer. It works but I would not say I'm crazy about it.
