As described

Mar 23, 2018

Probably the guys who had issue with the board didnt read the documentation.
The FC switch ar working as described on paper.
I have till now more than 10 boards, only one i succeed to break by my mistake.
Great board shame that dont support sbus straight.

Correction

Feb 20, 2018

2) Connect SBUS/IBUS pin from Receiver to RX Pin on ___UART2___ (get power from somewhere else)
Notes:
The +5V and GND pins on UART2 arent suitable for reciever (its only 3V), and will also corrupt the video feed. You can use +5V and GND from Soft serial port (RGB LED port) to power your receiver or use external source/BEC.

The documentation is brain damaged

Feb 18, 2018

Nathans site is really good info, but scarab-osd is no longer free so I use Minimosd-extra.
Also the switch block for this board is different again to the documentation supplied (and different to the oze32 reviewed by Nathan, otherwise very similar)
The documentation supplied for this board is very wrong. The correct settings for the switch block are:
A: OSD Mode (To program OSD) [1 2 ON; 3 4 5 6 OFF]
B: FC Mode, (To program FC) [1 2 3 4 OFF; 5 6 ON]
C: FLY Mode (OSD ENABLED for video) [1 2 OFF; 3 4 5 6 ON]
The OSD by default is configured for NTSC, if you use a PAL camera, it will disable the OSD when your camera gets power.
To fix flash to the lastest version of minimosd-extra from here: https://github.com/night-ghost/minimosd-extra
Other things:
The +5v pins on UART2 and UART soft serial 2 are actually +3V (documentation apparently wrong again)
The Power Pins Video IN and VIdeo OUT are actually VBAT (so 16V for 4S) (use external BEC power instead, or +5V pin from UART1)
External SBUS inverter is only needed for FRSKY receivers.
Other recievers with a normal implementation of SBUS will work with SBUS/IBUS via UART2 once you:
1) Install betaflight configurator, & flash latest naze32. https://github.com/betaflight/betaflight-configurator/releases
2) Connect SBUS/IBUS pin from Reciever to RX Pin on UART1 (get power from somewhere else)
3) Use betaflight configurator to enable serial rx on UART2 under ports (save/reset)
4) & enable serial based reciever IBUS under configuration (save/reset)
Notes:
The +5V and GND pins on UART2 arent suitable for reciever (its only 3V), and will corrupt the video feed. You can use +5V and GND from UART1
Soft serial port (RGB LED port) to power your receiver or use external source/BEC.
Its probably better to use the PPM input for your RX and save UART2 for a GPS for the MinimOSD

Hard to setup with those dip switches

Dec 27, 2017

Use betaflight naze 32 ver 3.2.3 and scarab osd 1.6 .
Connects to turnigy i6 (updated to 14 channels) radio ok using a X6B receiver (no leads come with the hobbyking version)
A little hard to setup but good for $12 au

How to use for a flying wing?

Dec 25, 2017

I like to use the board with a Flying Wing but how do I connect the servo's? I have motor on the 1th, 2nd is empty, 3rd is right servo and 4th is left servo. Motor response is OK but the servo do not respond at all?

Old school

Nov 27, 2017

I bought several of these boards when they were on special for about $10. Yeah they work fine and do the job, I've mostly been using them as stabilization in flying wings. But they are old school, the dip switches drive you nuts when setting them up, and they are no longer supported by cleanflight/betaflight/inav. Do your self a favour, spend a few dollars more and buy yourself an F3 board, unless you are running a super tight budget and don't mind the stuffing around.

Using Turnigy 9x don't have SBUS but still bought it. Its a good flight controller. Checked on clean flight, looks fun.
