    Frsky have put their reliable and well-known frequency hopping ACCST technology into the new Taranis Q X7 radio system with addition of full telemetry. All the usual Taranis features are used in this radio such as Receiver Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) alerts, Real-time Flight Data Logging and receiver matching.

     

    There is a new look case that comes in either black or white. Once again the excellent Quad Ball-Bearing Gimbals are used and it is up to you to determine what mode to set the radio to and also if you want self-centering spring loaded sticks (standard) or the usual stationary set throttle.

     

    The Taranis mixes the power of the “OPEN TX” open-source software with an ergonomic case with 6 programmable switches (4 x 3-position, 1 x 2-position, 1 x momentary) and two twist knobs. Set up your switches and controls how you want them.

     

    Alerts can be presented in the form of audio speech outputs, sound or vibration alerts making this extremely user-friendly. The MicroSD card slot offers unlimited model memory options, it also has a USB port for upgrades and to connect to a PC for adjusting settings. As well as this there is the ability to use all your model files from the older TARANIS X9D/X9D Plus/X9E making it easy to get the new system up and working.

     

    The FrSky Taranis Q X7 is a very versatile, cost effective radio.

    Good radio for the money. Well made and works with ease. Not as good as the x9d. Screen too small to see all the functions of open tx. Its ok if you are prepared to scroll through 14 plus pages of controls. Its a pitty there was no charger or battery pack. It does draw a lote of power from a 2.5ahr 6cell enyloop. Does last a whole days flying but does need charging after 2hrs use. No sd card either. Verry well made radio good quality product. Can be updated to any of the frsky protcols.

    OpenTX at its Best

    This Transmitter is one of the best I ever use. For a very good price, you will get a best class Transmitter. In comparison to my 9XD this Transmitter fits perfectly in my hands. In addition, the gimbals have a better quality. The Display is not as good as the display of the 9XD, but it is OK and you have the full functionality of openTX. I use my Taranis transmitter with the multi module “IrangeX”, so I can support over 71 different Receivers. The Transmitter came to me without a battery, but the battery connector on the mainboard of the transmitter fits to the standard balancer plugs of every battery from Hobby King. You can use 2S and 3S batteries for this transmitter. If you want to charge the Transmitter you can by a Charger an a plug everywhere, but it is not necessary. Form my site the only problem is the availability of this transmitter in the Hobby King Warehouses.

    It's great. It's a bit too wide for me, and the screen could be bigger. But hey, you can only expect so much for this price.
