    They aren't defective but the Gaui 425 braces are known for being fragile. Do yourself a favor and buy some Trex 600 braces and skids instead. They fit very well after a very minor modification - use a Dremel to move the braces' mounting holes outward, to fit the holes on the Gaui frame.
