Great little flyer

The detail is very good, nearly good enough for a coffee table model. Mine has all the armaments fitted and flies very well. The only problem is with the stabilizer. At full throttle the ailerons oscillate violently, slow flying is fine. I have disconnected mine from the stabilizer and reduced the travel to 70% with some expo. now its fine. Great value when on special. Lack of spares is a problem though.

Good and Bad

- There is no motor specs. I'm guessing it has DST-1200KV.
- 3S battery with bundled 8x6, 4-blades prop. will make the motor very hot. It will burn out motor soon and fast(measurement was 260W and over 22A)
- With 2S battery with bundled 8x6, 4-blades prop., the motor will use around 110 watts that power is not enough for fun flying. I tested the 8x7, 2 blades props with 3S battery, which setting makes the motor power 180Watts and uses 16A at Max. This is the best setting without burning motor.
- No stock on 8x6, 4-blades props for a long time.
- ORX Gyro makes the plane randomly oscillating left and right with higher speed. There is no way to fix it. ( I'm using only expert mode ) I'm thinking to take out the ORX after more testing done.

Faulty Gryo

If you fly the plane there is no warranty...But submit a claim if you have a question? How can I tell if the gyro is going to make the plane shake only at half throttle or above unless I fly it. I never crashed it, it I just have to fly very slow. Customer service sucks all they say is sorry, no advice. "R" I hope the next car you buy the AC dont work and when you take it back the guy just says sorry, thanks for your money though. All I needed was some advice not a new plane, maybe a gyro.

What a blast to fly! Easy to assemble, easy to program, and scale like features. The gyro gets quirky at high speeds but overall it is fun to fly. I am using 1000mah batteries all the way forward and balances right at the back end. Loops, rolls, cuban 8s, it does it all!

The Skyraider is a well build airplane, fly like no other, this aireplane is perfect. Hobby King lower the price for a little bit and I bought a second one I have two of the Skyraider. It fly with such of performance that looks like is the real thing. With lots of wind or no wind it don't matter with this airplane still a good flyer. I recommended this plain. Its a winner, a champion.

ORX Flight Stabilizer is junk as as customer service.

The plane starts to shake after half throttle so bad I think it is going to come apart in the air and it doesn't matter what mode you have it in. Customer service said well since the plane has flown no warranty and we cant help. Nice... How am I to tell if its going to work unless I fly it? Plane never crashed, not scratch and at least I could have received some advice. I have 18 planes and this is the first and last from HK. Plane does have some great detail but I guess Ill have to take out their junk ORX and just run the receiver and see.

It looks amazing, packaging and boxing were perfect, I'm going to buy a 2nd one so I can do the Camo paint scheme on it. Attention to detail is brilliant. Love the look. Yes parts are to get from HOBBYKING, but I have found 2 shops online, that have tons of the spares for all the 800mm planes (Props, cones, connections), so I bought a stack and it all good.

The A1 SkyRaider is a perfect flyer with beginner mode on or off, great value for money and fast shipping so thank you Hobby King
I have two A1 skyraiders only because I needed the propeller blades 8x6 as Hobbyking has been out of stock of propeller blades for a while, so when landing be sure to flair quite a bit so the propeller don't break.
Other then that no problem, Iv also added navigational lights as previous models had lighting I'm using Teflon thin wire added to a separate battery so adding upgrades is also easy for this aeroplane.
