Great on 4S!

Now that I’m running it on 4S, I have a lot of fun with this plane!
See the mod tech Monday video where Hobbyking mentions how you can just swap the ESC and keep the rest of the power train stock while running 4S. I went with an 80amp ESC and glad I did as it’s pulling over 65 amps.
With this setup, it hovers with about half throttle and can accelerate into an unlimited vertical climb.
In addition to the power, it has a great set of landing gear that handles grass well, including a steerable rear wheel.
The airframe is forgiving and feels locked-in for this class of plane. No bad tendencies and glides well too.
Only downside is that it carries a bit of speed on landing and there are no flaps to slow it down. You can setup flaperons as a compromise. Alternatively, with the extra power, you can actually do a harrier landing if you have the skills.

Poor Battery Box Design

The plane is solid except where it counts, the battery box. Box is too small and the plastic door on the bottom WAY too flimsy. Being on the bottom any bumpy landing is going to test the limits of this cheap design. Further, my 3S 2200 just barely fits depth wise and forces the plastic door to bulge out in the middle. I'll be keeping the plane of course but I would NOT buy it again. Be interesting to see if this comment gets posted...

Good buy for hobby

Assembly is straight forward and typical of a PNP plane. For now, rather than gluing the wing halves, I used clear Gorilla Tape on the upper and lower wing joint. Seems to give plenty of support.
Quality of the foam seems really good. The control horn clevises are very light weight, and some users may opt to replace those. I gave minor adjustments of the clevises to get the control surfaces aligned.
The plane on a 3S-2200 battery gave good power and did not seem underpowered to me. I flew it fairly hard on my 2nd battery and ran the battery low before 6 minutes. I had good dead stick control as the plane glides well.
WEAKNESS: The battery options are limited because of the small battery box. It is too shallow to take a 4S-2200, and too short to take anything longer than the 2400.
IMO: The plane is a keeper and I think good as a second plane for the novice flyer.
