Okay but should be 6s

Was rather weak on 4s power. Long roll on asphalt to reach a safe takeoff speed @ 3500' DA. Ran 3 battery packs through it one 3000Ma 5s, a 2800 4s and a 2600 4s.
Only flew about 3 minutes each time so not very long flight times. It just seemed overall a bit weak which explains why HK upgraded this unit to what it should have been in the first place - 6s power.

Flyable on 4s but better on 6s

There's a reason HK upgraded this model to 6s. I flew mine on 4s off an asphalt runway @ around 3500 ft DA. It was pretty anemic and took a bit to get up to decent takeoff speed, then climbed rather slowly.
Will be installing replacement 6s EDF unit and ESC soon. Other than the low power the model flew well and was not difficult to land.

Agree with Phat Daddy this plane is under powered and lack of speed.
Maiden with 4s 2200 65c graphene and its a disappointment. Now looking option to go 6s

Nice EDF

This plane is pretty nice in my book. It goes together pretty quick and flies easy. It isn't blazing fast that is for sure but for pilots starting out it is entertaining. I fly mine with Nanotech 4s 2650mah 35C batteries and it performs well. Takeoff and landing from pavement is a breeze. Only issue I have is that one of my LED's went out. It must have a broken connection somewhere that I will have to fix. Other than that, the plane is perfect :)

Gorgeous Hangar Queen

I have to admit that the looks of this plane are incredible. I was pleased with the overall construction before I flew it. On the maiden flight I quickly discovered it was horribly under powered using recommended Graphene 4S 2200 battery. Barely enough power for a very gentle climb, not enough power or speed to loop from level full power flight even when the battery was fresh and fully charged. Within 2 and a half minutes it could not maintain altitude. First landing was in grass and the front landing gear pulled out. When repairing it I discovered almost no glue was used to hold the plywood mount to the foam fuselage. Break-away landing gear! What a novel idea. Second flight was the same. Not enough power to do much other than wallow and to avoid damage I landed gear up in grass. This plane NEEDS a larger (80 amp min) ESC and 6S minimum with the current motor. Best option is probably to buy the kit and find a sweet powerful 6S setup. I rated the quality as 3 crowns because other than lacking glue (mentioned) and being crippled it's a gorgeous airplane.
