Im Frühjahr und Herbst Winter ein Muss

May 26, 2019

Wir haben sie in eine Heizbox eingebaut. Seit 3 Jahren Problemlos.

Quite good

I'm using this in my raydiowarm transmitter glove, and I was surprised how warm this got on full power from a 3S 2200 mAh battery. Just keep in mind to place the heat sensor close to the heater elements, mine nearly caught fire as I thought the sensor should be inside the transmitter compartment so it almost caught fire. (It actually caught fire but I was lucky to land my plane and saw/felt it before it was too late!).
And the connectors from the heater to the heater elements should be more rigid as they easily loose and makes a bad contact, make shure these are connecting the heaters will not work. It draws quite a lot of current from the battery on full effect so keep in mind to have a voltage protector and several fully loaded batteries to replace with on the field, or maybe even connect two batteries in parallell to make shure it last for a while. A voltage protector/busser connected to your battery's balancing plug is a good insurance to keep your battery from taking damage. And make shure it cant catch fire from the heater elements lying next to the fabric in your glove, mine nearly caught fire on the first test so make a plate or something that the heaters can mount on to so it doesn't lie right into the fabric that can. A bit nasty if the transmitter glove catches fire wile you are in mid air and have to get your hands outta there! I guess this wouldn't be an issue if you place the sensor correctly onto the heater element and not inside your glove. This should be warned about with a notice or some sort of user manual provided in the box the system came in. Therefore this is not getting a full score from me.
Besides that, it's an awesome product that will give you a lot of more flying days even when it's could as hell outside. No more freesing your fingers off while you fly. Good value for the money!

I mounted all the components excluding the heating pads on a 5 inch by 8 inch quarter inch plywood mounted with HK wide blue velcro between the hand holds so as to keep the top of the glove well above the bottom of the glove. This helps keeping your hands off of the heating pads which are place to the sides of the bottom of the glove. This arrangement with the heaters in series on a 3S LiPo is a comfortable arrangement.

This heater is fantastic if you use it correctly. Either use it with a 2S LiPo as received, or re-wire it so that the two heaters are connected in series and run it on 3S. This avoids the heating pads getting very hot as stated by others.
In series on 3S it takes about 2 amps when the LiPo is at storage voltage (about half discharged). This is sufficient on fairly cold days since in another review it stated that at 3S it used about 1100 mAh for 1 hour at -15 degrees C (5 degrees F) hence at an average of 1.1 amps, so 2 amps for the series connection is sufficient.
I chose to make allowances for even colder weather and replaced the four pin cable connector with a 10amp DPDT switch with a center off position (from Radio Shack). This allowed me to switch between parallel heaters and series heaters or off with a 3S LiPo. The heating power is about 120 watts for parallel and about 30 watts for series heater connections, and I only use the 120 watts for a quick pre heat of the glove. However if the temperature never goes below 5 degrees F (-15 degrees C) then you only need the series connection for 3S operation

Draws 5,5 amps from 3S 2200mAh LiPo. Temperature sensor is installed into one pad only, but this is not an issue while pads are installed into similar coditions. Make sure you use separate LiPo low voltage buzzer to protect your battery.
