For ALES this is about the best value out there. Its versatile in that you can set any altitude the CD decides to call, not just 100m,150, or 200m...and you can bet that will be happening as ALES attracts the upper skill level sailplane competition pilots. For instance, an all up day? Instead of extending the flight time to bore the heck out of all the guys, and causing a stiff neck, the CD might say, set your ALES switches at 75m, or maybe 50m.

Because it has a pigtail to connect the Programmer, the switch is always accessible to change the programming, even if the switch is buried in the fuse out of sight.

The programmer is easy to use and we use it a lot during comps to verify we have grabbed a fully charged motor battery since the programmer doubles as a cell reader.

There are fancier devices with digital readouts right on the switch (er...buried in the model and NOT visible in the sunlight). For the money this one really is the best value.
The included Thumb Drive allows guys to download and view the flight (yawn:-).

Trs bon produit, simple mettre en oeuvre. Je l'utilise sur un planeur motoris pour couper le moteur une altitude donne (700 pieds). Seul bmol, impossible d'uploader les donnes dans le programme PC (prog. install, driver USB ok, setup port COM ok, quand je clique Upload, il se bloque 1pcnt). Sinon, impeccable, je ne quitte plus le boitier de programmation ;)

This is great vfm I read about it on forums etc good and bad The only and best way is try it yourself. Softeware not fantastic but functional. I looked at other in uk twice price I intend to buy more I hope the blue tooth is as good

I have uploaded some English instructions on how to set up the Restart function - see the Files section. The reason is that I could not work out how to change the Restart setting. The manual is unclear. However I emailed the FlyDream manufacturer and they replied with exactly the info I needed. This may help others having the same problem.

Lo recib hace poco y hoy lo he probado, funciona muy bien haciendo correctamente todo lo que debe hacer pero debo reconocer que es el aparato peor documentado que he tenido nunca. Menos mal que tiene pocas funciones programables porque para averiguar como funciona y como se programa hay que hacerlo por intuicin, el manual sirve "pa na o menos".
De todas maneras, a pesar de ello, la relacin calidad precio es excelente.

I received recently and today I tested, it works great doing it correctly all you have to do but I must admit this is the worst documented device I've ever had. Thankfully that has few programmable features to find out how the program works and how it should be done by intuition, the manual is "for nothing or less."
However, despite this, the value is excellent.

This product works well and should be good for ALES competitions. I tested it on a Radian, with a variety of altitude limits (30, 100 and 200m) and with and without a 30second limit. It worked just fine, and it was convenient to download the altitude log to see what happened. Other low-cost products don't include the logging function. I like the ability to re-start the motor. I won't fly without that safety feature.

Hobby King need to put the software on the Files tab as advertised, although I found it on the FlyDream site. I am using the same software for the HK Altimeter (log-only) product.

I would award 5 stars if the field programmer was a little easier to understand, and if the PC software was easier to use and could export the data to a file in a format like TXT or CSV so it could be imported into Excel.

It has taken me a while to understand this device but it does work well. The interface programme "FDA" does the job but there are some lessons to be learned. After each upload you should store the file(s) on your computer (with screen shots if required) and before unplugging the flight recorder you should press the "Clear the FDA" button. The programme will indicate when that is finished.



When you upload files recorded over multiple days it creates the problem of differing barometric conditions in relation to the single Graph template. It is advisable to upload flight files at the end of each flying session.



If you have set the recorder to measure in feet, be sure to set the graph the same way. The more you use this device, the more you will value it.

en France nous sommes limit a 500 pieds (150m) et avec cet altimeter je doit dire que ces que du bonheur fonctionnement trs precies et facile d'utilisation.Trs bon produit je recommande.
