I plan on using this with a 5:1 gear box, a 14 inch folding prop with a headless spinner for my glider. I wish HobbyKing had gearboxes.

Does not work with hextronik 120A ESC. I've tried 2 units, changing all parameters.

I order this one for my 1/10 stampede truck, and a super simple 100A speed controller. If you can find a cheaper brushless combo, let me know!



The motor is great, I only had to drill some extra holes to hold it into the truck's gearbox, easy thing.



With 6 ni-mh cells, the truck has lots lots lots of power. The motor is pretty cold, and the ESC too, The only drawback is the brake of the super simple ESC. but i can live with it )

Excelent motor for mono1 boat.

After cutting fins on turning-lathe (except first and last one) it is easy to make cooling jacket from thin copper metal plate.

Running with 3s2p A123 and K36 prop, good speed and over 7 minutes of ride.

Will try K37,5 prop next time.

Quality is superb for the price.

Io at 12 V is 4 A (not 1.8 A) measured with Kontronik Jazz 55-6-18 controller.

Good motor for the 3 in ducted fan, fantastic thrust, but very amp hungry as shown in following test:



4S 2P 2100 Polyquest:

975.3 max watts

87.95 A

10.51 Vmin



3S 2P 2200 Zippy:

823.3 max watts

86.16 A

9.6 Vmin



Almost overheated my 60 ESC... also tends to really heat up.



With the 3 inch Hayoe DF, this motor will work well likely with a minimum of 80 Amp esc, and 4S2P 2100 Lipoly.
