LiFePo4 2700mAh 20C Single Cel

Nov 14, 2007

To continue my eralier review: the ceels are not too impressive when it comes to delivering acc to the specs. One has to use 4 instead of 3 cells to get decent performance alike a LiPo 11.1V pack. Also the capacity comes nowhere near the 2.7Ah: 2.3Ah max. (with an Ansmann Li-Ion charger).

Also I have a hard time getting more than 30A, instead of the rated 54 Amps.

LiFePo4

Nov 14, 2007

I use the cells as an 6s pack in a funtana S40 with a Hacker A50 motor amd a Ramoser 3 15,2x6 propp. After 2 minutes running with throttel in half position i have 17V and 25A, throttel full are 15V and 43A. I discharged the batterie to 13V- charged it up to 22V with the fill of 2250mAh- it is ok for the money.

LiFePO4 gaining ground

Nov 14, 2007

LiFePO4 is one of the best chemistries among the latest battery technologies.

The main characteristics are high charge- and discharge rates as well as a good natured abuse behavior and a decent lifetime. However, the energy density is not as good as other lithium chemistries but this can be accepted for all the outstanding advantages. Please keep in mind that these LiFePo4 cells will be very stable and may not even need a balancer if treated well. The price is quite good and a good option to the rather expensive A123 cells which can be considered as similar cells with equal ratings.

OK Battery

Nov 14, 2007

Tested as 4S pack, drawing solid 32A

with voltage depression at 10.5V. This

is similar to good lipo 2200maH 3s1p

pack that delivers 36A @10.5V under load.

Considering it as A123 alternative it is not too far behind.

Temp @ end of test(fully depleted) was

54 degC.

Held voltage @10.5V for most of discharge. Great for 2P apps for large

aircraft...u will get solid 60A

Also will gradually slope off voltage at end of capacity, not sudden dump.

Drew out close to 2600maH for total discharge.

Have not tested charge capabilities yet

or cycle life....

very good product

Nov 14, 2007

The reel spec tell nominal 2500mah and min 2300mah with max charge to 4.1V cccv

i tested it with 5 cycle zero cutoff and the cell perform very good with 300mah lost only at 25Amp

at 6.5A the charge is very short and i charge it cc to 4.1V and stop and the cell reach same mah than cccv charge to 3.7V

discharge voltage?

Nov 14, 2007

To all the guys complaining about the lower capacity:

Did you discharge the cells to 2.0 Volt as stated from the manufacturer?

The original A123-cells can only be discharged to 2.5 Volt and that's the difference.
