Is used for electronically reversible radar screenI got two of these, and they weigh an average of 3.575g out of the packet. The prop shaft extends 18.5mm beyond the front face of the large gear. The prop bushing at the tip of the shaft is 7mm deep and has a 4mm diameter. GWS props with a 4mm ID prop hubs will press-fit nicely onto these. Both my units came with their main shafts feeling rather tight to rotate by hand. I connected the motor to a variable DC power source and powered them with 1V, slowly increasing it to 3V. Initially the no-load
current draw was 400mA. Left to run for about a minute like this, you can hear the revs go up, and eventually the no-load current was only 100mA. After that, the main shaft felt very easy to rotate by hand, it was no longer tight. I think the retaining bushing was pressed on too tight, but the above method was able to break-in both my units.
Nice and light motor/gearbox combo. While the power output with a GWS 5x3 is a bit less than stated it works well in my micro aircraft with a 130mAh 1S battery and the HK brushed micro ESC. The propeller fits well on the shaft adapter, but care must be taken to not bend the tiny shaft.I like it! I am flying a 20g depron/mylar, rudder/elevator model using a gws 5x3 prop and a nanotech 130mAh cell and a vapor brick. Cruises on 1/2 power with excellent duration. Probably unsuitable for 3D?
I added this to my Kyosho Minium 4 Ch, which was a bit underpowered right out of the box. I added a GWS EP Propeller (DD-5030 127x76mm) and now the plane works quite fine!The small diameter (1 mm) is soft and very easily bent. That said, use of a homemade propsaver aids greatly. For the cost, a viable Indoor sport motor for my 21.5 gr. AUW foamies.Much smoother than the 6mm unit but why the long shaft ? The prop adapter is very eccentric making the prop run way out of true. weight 3.3grams
