Nice idea, shame it doesn't work properly

I got one of these when they were on offer as the reviews seemed very good and the telemetry would be very useful, especially as I like to modify ARF's & design my own planes and need to know if I'm pushing things a bit too far. In that regard it's a great idea, just a shame it doesn't work properly.
It binds OK and I have all 12 channels but doesn't send any telemetry back or failsafe when Tx is turned off. I have tried using just one and then both jumpers in an effort to at least get telemetry and have used a Tx with known working telemetry but all to no avail. Others have reported no problems so maybe I've just been unlucky and have a bad unit?
