Completely happy - powering a 3.2m 3.3kg DG600 with it

I wanted a motor with some emergency power for a 3,3kg 3,2m DG600. I am running the tor on 4S, 4000mA Lipos using a 15x10 folding prop. In non-flight (holding it), the voltage drops to 14,5V on a full battery, the Amps are going up to 55-58A, delivering aroud 6900rpm. With a 16x10 prop, the Amps went up to around 66A, 6500rpm. I am using the 15x10 - with this, the glider goes easily 45° and a bit more.
For me a perfect fit.
In flight with the 15x10, the Amps dropped to 52A.

Another prime PropDrive

This motor 4248/650 propdrive V2 has good ventillation and runs as cool as a cucumber. It turns a big prop with ease, without that whining sound that some motors make. I will prop it down for my Wot4 aeroplane. I have run it a few times and there are a wide variety of props I can use on it, all props listed are APC glass electric (the grey American ones) I am using 4S 40c batteries.
1365 pulls 500W @ 36A and is only warm when it comes down.
1408 draws 720W & 51A and gets warm but not hot.
1406 draws 600W & 42A and only luke warm.
All of my propdrive V2's are solid motors with oversize japanese bearings and when given a drop of thick oil on each bearing twice a year they will last well. Fair enough, there may be other motors out there that are MARGINALLY better, but you can outrun those posh buggers with one of these because you are a better pilot!

I have a couple of propdrive V2 motors they offer a loud bang for a low buck. Just oiled the bearings and bolted on two different props. Thrust wasn't measured but was easily greater than 2.8kg and more like 3kg with the larger prop.
Tested on 4 cell 60c of 6Ah used a hobbyking YEP 120LV esc & turnigy power meter.
prop eolo 1408 14V 46A and prop eolo 1608 14V 54A I will probably end up using a master airscrew 1310 and have just ordered one.
