Nice foamy kit and almost finished the build. Using a Turnigy 2200kv with 6x4 prop on 3S 2200 lipo. Draws around 26A and 280W, so a good setup to start with. There was slight wing damage from the packing, definately more foam in the box than what the Skyfun is built with. My elevons were also poorly taped at the hinge joint, one was high and the other low so rather than risk it I have made two new ones from balsa and will use proper hinges. Also added carbon spars to the channels under both wings for added strength. Everything else looks nicely done and they even had two props in the kit with a rather cheesy prop adapter which doesn't fit the Turnigy shaft anyway. I've fitted trusty HXT900 9g servos and with a bit of modifying using heat, the plastic protective covers will fit although I'll tape them in place rather than using glue. Added a fairly decent magnet to the front of the canopy as I believe it decides to part company in some cases.Looking forward to the maiden and possibly running gear upgrade at a later stage. Der Jet ist damit Schnell und durch die Delta Form doch sehr gut mtig unterwegs.
Der Bausatz muss bei solchen geschwindichkeiten allerdings komplett mit GFK beglast und CKK Stben versteift werden, ist dann aber voll Altagstauglich, weil auf kurzem Rasen Bodenstart fhig.5 star rating again for the i d i o t that rated it 1 star. This kit needs work, but it's on of the best flying airframes in this format.I bought the PNF version and fell in love with the model so I bought a new kit to pimp out with more powerful electronics. This model is excellent at high speeds as well as low speeds!OK for the money. Weighs 525 grams all up including added wheels and 1000mah 3 cell, with Turnigy 28261400kv motor and 7x6cut to 6x6 prop producing 170w 15amp max. Decals poorly applied, elevons badly set, cut them off and made balsa ones. Lots of moulding flash needs sanding down. Clear canopy glued just at front and back only, take it off and reglue before you loose it. It would have been better if decals were on a sheet, canopy was supplied loose, elevons & hinges supplied loose and glue was supplied with kit.
it must be cheaper for the supplier rather than paying for poor assembly.Havent flown it yet, but I didnt really like the tape hinges and the fuselage seems to be of faulty design, as most of its space is useless if you dont plan to carry only foam with you. 90 percent of the fuselage space is located in front of the CoG...the wings are placed too far back in relation to the fuselage. I think the Funjet has a smarter designGreat plane for the price, yet to maiden it but am pleased with the quality of the model. The foam is more of a packaging type foam but should hold up fine. I installed several carbon fibre rods to reinforce the wing and motor mounting area as will be running a 2300kv motor out of an efx racer, however the factory done hinges are simply fibreglass reinforced tape and will need replacing if using a high speed set up (in my opinion!) i will be running a 6x4 prop on 3s 2200 packs, model is super lightweight and the thrust to weight ratio should make for a superb flying model!Great fun, when upgrades are done for the fast setup, ailerons are very flimsy so i have made some out of balsa and covered, The motor fell off first flight so check bolts on the bottom use loctite. the clear screen part of the canopy fell of just a case of gluing that back on, the wings bend up on high maneuvers so i put a balsa bracket over the esc wires at the back, i will upload some pictures of finished upgrades, Overall very fast not bad for the price just have to spend a fun day modifyingI've just assembled it, the fit of the wing to the main body is pretty slack with gaps on both sides, heaps of glue and fibre tape fix's that problem, no carbon rods were supplied with the kit luckily I had some 2.5mm solid carbon which I used, the servo covers in the kit were too shallow to cover the servo's, found this out after I glued the servo carrier in, I should have mounted the servo's from the top, it would have been easy, had to make my own servo protection seeing as the servo arms are on the bottom of the plane a very prone position, I've put fibre tape over all the glue joints so I expect it to hold together pretty well, It fly's a dream, I used a 2200kv with a 6x5.5 prop, the plastic motor mount turned out to be painted alloy, it looked and felt like plastic till I drilled a hole out for a bigger screw and it was alloy, with such stable flying I think even being eps, (very smooth eps it looks like epo) this plane should have a good life span :-)Not happy with it being eps, but after seeing them fly on youtube I had to get one, there's more foam in the box for transport than what's in the plane! all looks good except for the plastic motor mount may have to make a better one out of light alloy
