The same happened to me; I've had to glue the aluminum rod to the ball ends together with epoxy, let's see if that works. Still trying to figure out how to make the whole system steadier, maybe some rubber bands will help.

The support required a bit of plastic trimming to match my futaba radio, no big deal.

A good idea, but poorly finished. Hope a "v2" appears with this issues corrected.

Avoid this item at all cost, it simply cannot handle the weight of a little tablet! The thumb screw bottoms out in the included nut and will allow the tablet to tilt back and forth. You have to really tighten everything for it to stay in place and even then it will move around easily.The small ring that tightens the bottom of the shaft broke just now (so it's useless) and the aluminum rod ends are not glued properly and come loose. Terrible, just terrible, I'm filing a customer complaint right now.
