I guess I am happy with the motor but it does not perform as per the other reviews. 14*7 APC style, 4 cell 3800 pack (I have tried 2) and it only draws about 19 amps. Motor does not sound as if it is working real hard so I am going to try more prop to make it work harder and draw more current (get more thrust). Looking at the KV of the motor I am not surprised as I have a higher KV motor which is smaller and it spins the same prop at 40 amps (much faster). Lower KV means slower rotation and therefore less power is needed.

2.7kg static thrust at 4S LiPo

Nov 14, 2007

I am building electric conversion of SIG Somethin' Extra and I intend to install this motor to it. I measured 2.7kg static thrust with 14x7E APC propeller (4100mAh Hextronic 4S LiPo). The measured power was about 630W (about 43A). Needless to say that I am happy with the motor. :)

55A with 5 LiPos= 1KW!

Nov 14, 2007

Just tested this motor on a Super Sportster 40 with a HXT60 BESC (15 timing) and 5 LiPo pack (5400mah 30C). With a Graupner 10x7 3-blade prop, current climbs to 55A on the ground(!) this is due to the LiPo's having a very small internal resistance and of course the engine running above its normal rating of 4 LiPo's.

Plane is way overpowered with this setup. However, the engine stays cool which is surprising, even whith the typical 'open cowling' on this glow-powered plane. Had to beef-up the motor mount to avoid vibrations though. Best would be a 'frontside' installation.

Power To spare

Nov 14, 2007

A quick note to show you the result of the installation of a TP3520x7 motor with a Polymax 4S 3000mah, HXTBSC60 and a Graupner 3-blade 11x7 prop.

Only 29Amps max current with this setting. (Accurate Motocalc specs for this motor: 650rpm/V 1.2A NoLoad 0.033 Ohm).

At 3kg, the plane has power to spare.

Nice motor. Tooling is as nice as any other brand. Runs smooth and is well balanced. This is a 4-5 cell motor. It's big and strong and likes voltages above 11.7V (3S1P). Get more in soon!

Best value for money

Nov 14, 2007

Replaced a Four stroke .50 with 3520-7 works perfect in my Black Horse Diablo 3D. More power and more reliable. I use APC 13x8, TURNIGY 60amp Esc and HXT D9 G2 3200mAh 4S 15-25C.

40A, 570W 15 Minutes of flight.

Great!

Super Motor. Verwende diesen mit 4S Lipo in einer Fokker DII mit einer 13x6,5 APC-E. Damit sehr gut motorisiert.

This motor rocks.

Nov 14, 2007

I fitted this motor in a 64" span Hyperion Super Chipmunk 70E weighing 2.9Kg. Flying the Chippie for 8 min of sport aerobatics: highest power was 1.067 KW. Maximum current draw was 58A. Average 13.6A. Exceeded 52A draw 18 times. Usual peak current draw is around 40A. After landing, the motor was cool to touch. See my blog here:
