40C? What a joke!

After about 15 cycles in my stock trex500, both of these packs get so hot and swell so much I'm scared to use them. I reckon they're on the edge of bursting (I've seen it happen before). The turnigy 2650mah 6s 40c pack in the same heli warms up a bit but doesn't swell. These batteries are junk and the C ratings are lies.

Please note: These 3000mah 6S 40C packs are now smaller and lighter than previously. They now weigh only 459 grams and measure 35mm x 43mm x 137mm. I bought these as my heli was tail heavy with the packs I had, but these are no better and I'll need to add ballast to them to get them up to the required 520g I needed

I bought 2 of these, they seem to charge and discharge properly. However, one came perfectly flat, the other came slightly puffed. I don't know if this is a concern but I've purchased over 50 batteries from HK and I've never received a puffed battery. I'm contemplating sending a warranty claim but how do I prove that a battery is slightly puffed? It's really not a fire hazard concern, more of a internal resistance concern. I purposely bought these for the higher C rating because I'm using it in a scale build. If the C rating has degraded because of the puffiness, that really defeats the purpose.

Came today perfectly balanced.

Up to now, I did not have any problem with the blue Turnigys. They work as described . I use quite a lot of them still happy with all of them. Recommended. But, check all plugs that are already soldered on arrival. Some times( mostly ) they have to be resoldered, but this is not Turnigy only, had the same on other brans, too. I check all Lipo connectors before first flight with them.

Great pack of batteries. It works quite exepcional after discharge cycles. Always taking care of not decrease to 30pcnt of its capacity.

I advise a bearing of 5 cycles at 50pcnt before starting to use the total discharge.

Very satisfied.
