this lipo ist the best for the spektrum transmitter.Quality is ver good, thanks HKI have been using this pack from HK for a couple of years now, it had become tired so I purchased 2 more packs a few days ago. I am not using it as is, when it arrives, I open the pack by carefully removing the covering around the cable, unsoldering the existing cables, removing the built-in balancing circuit and wiring it as a regular LiPo with a balancing cable, so that I can charge / balance it through my regular charger. I trust this method better, just 15 minutes work and hope to get out of each pack another 2 years of usage.
It is a bit warring that I have been charging it now for about 2 hours and it doesn't reach balance point... I hope it is not a sign telling me that the quality of this has become questionable.Using this lipo I can go a month in between charges. With the hihg capasity of this battery. Flying is great.Bought one for my D9 Black Ed.
So far haven't experienced any problems with it.
The connector seems to be of type JST-EH, ordered some female connectors for making a charge lead for my charger in case I need to charge it with more than 200mAh provided by the charger that came with the transmitter.very good replacement for cheaper price, you can charge these on lipo charger (non balanced mode) but you need a modified cable, just don't charge them too fast, their internal balancer cant handle it. I charged upto .7 c and it got full at 8.4, couldn't make the trickle charger included with the radio to ever do this.It won't charge with any of my chargers it did discharge but now I have a dead battery. And no way to charge it did show 8.3 volts then the charger will stop with high voltage 20 volts.Charger works find on other batteries.Awesome batteery for the price. Why bur expensive lipos when these have the same qualityThis is a great battery at a great price that really increases the endurance of your transmitter. I can testify voltage protection circuit works too. The other night, I left my radio on and did not realize it until the next afternoon. I was ticked when I discovered what I had done, because I was certain that I had ruined my new battery. The transmitter would not turn on and it read zero volts when I put my meter on it. To my amazement, it came to life when I connected it to my charger. The low voltage protection had worked and shutoff current output from the pack until the pack voltage came up above the 2.85V threshold. In a normal time (at a 1C charge) it came back up to a full charge of 8.4 volts and is working great. Good job HobbyKing.com!My new lipo fits well and works fine - much better than the originally supplied Spektrum NIMH pack.
Query - what is the plug fitted to this lipo and where can I get a female plug so that I can make up an adaptor lead with a futabe/JR male plug so i can charge the original NIMH pack (and my homemade Eneloop Tx pack) for use as a flight pack>Great for the money! Thanks a lot HK!
