Assan X8(J) 2.4 Module

Actually have A Spek module for my JR9X2[v2] (in USA JR9303) but bought the Assan module, (less than the cost of a Spek receiver)to save cost of receivers. Works fine. Only small disappointment was to find out that Assan are bring out a new (V2) module.

It is not that it will work any better, but will have extra features.

Assan 2.4GHz JR - Range test

Unit tested in JR X-3810 (Aus)

My house in on a hill in a populated suburban area with many trees and power lines.

To range test I put Tx on bedroom windowsill and drove off with 2 x Assan Rx units(The one in this kit and an X8R7) I used GPS to measure direct distance to Tx. I got solid green LED signal on both Rx @ 310mtrs (~1000ft) with a few trees obscuring direct line of sight. I drove to a distance of 1.8km (~6000ft) to a location with line of sight to Tx and had solid green on both Rx units. Phoned home and had helper move stick on Tx and servos on both responded.

Signal was lost when direct line of sight lost. Servos never twitched.

Overall I'd say this was an excellent result and satisified my range curiosity.
