The Land Rover was certainly one of the most famous British vehicles on four wheels and is a real milestone in the history of the off road vehicle. Born after the war, with the first prototypes manufactured in 1947, to meet both civilian and military tasks.
Inspired by the American Jeep the Land Rover was characterized by 4 wheel drive and a strong and reliable chassis to tackle the most difficult and demanding off-road trails.
The 109 inch long wheel base version has been used by British Special Air Service's since the 1970's. During operations in a desert environment the Land Rover took the typical pink panther camouflage color.
The Italeri range of kits are manufactured from tough styrene plastic and provide a high level of scale detail.
