Ran out of word count before so this is the second half of my review
Second problem with my purchase.
Once again I already own another wakera chinook. This new one came with the mix severely out of whack. On a calm day when it lifts off it veers dramatically to the left. So bad that I can't compensate on my TX. This unit certainly doesn't fly stable out of the box as it should like my other one. Either the setup was not done at the factory or this unit like the repairs done to the shell cracks before it was sent, make me think this was a refurbished unit or a damaged unit from the beginning. This Heli as those that own one know, it is not a trivial matter to tune up the mix as compared to single coaxials. It takes a very delicate touch. What makes me so disappointed is that someone there knew about these problems or they would not have tried to repair it. So either the factory or hobbyking warehouse knew.
So put me down as a not so happy customer this time. For the rest of you. This wakera chinook should fly nicely in calm weather and is a cool Heli not like any other heli most have flown. Low and slow with a great sound.

I examined this Heli upon it arriving and noticed some damage to the nose. Splits in the plastic shell to be exact and one chunk broken out and loose in the box. I thought it was shipping damage but it wasn't.

I discovered two things. Unlike my other Wakera chinnok #38 this plastic shell is inferior in materials and so it is very brittle compared to my other heli shell. I know these shells aren't very strong but this one is extreme. Next up and something I really didn't like. Was upon removing the shell from the body I discovered extensive repairs had already been made to the plastic shell with clear tape on the inside to fix cracks. This tape mended long splits in the plastic that ran along the area of both rotor stacks at each end. So it was already damaged and certainly was known about by someone there attempting to fix it. I have to assume that the repairs were done by whoever hobbyking bought supply from, or in the hobbyking warehouse. It's like this was a factory second or a return that was fixed and resold. The later problem backs this feeling up.

So right away I have ordered another shell from a different vendor and I'm waiting for it to come in and then see if it suffers from the same problem. But I would not buy the same shell again from hobbyking. I'm hoping by selecting the same shell style as my other chinook and a different vendor that the plastic will be like m

remember you are trading stability /reliability for more speed-so DON't back off the throttle-instead you need full 2 seconds toEASE OFF the throttle from forward to neutral- and i have BARELY ANY backward speed. but again who need it hen i can beat down a .28 ci buggy in speed- I can even tilt it left/right at a good 40 degree angle at top speed. at this point low flying is VERY VERY risky-you can never recover at top speed- so fly 2 MISTAKES high , OK ? I didn't, so i made all the mistakes above and crashed mine at approximately 30 kph from 40 feet high. What a tough heli- -only shell damage from the front shell(so I thought),without realizing the modifications A,B,C,D,E,F,G-cause the ESC to pull almost double the AMP-I inspected and fly again:at about 150 feet high - I SAW A LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE- FIRE! FIRE! THAN HEAVY SMOKE TRAIL . I BARELY CATCH IT WITH MY HANDS,heavy smoke and i pull the plug. the esc was completely fried rest was ok.
i should have installed a HXT UBEC 5/6v output, 5.5~23v Input-so it will off load some of the excess amp load from the ESC- but still NO REGRET-NOW IF ONLY JASON AT HK CARRY THE ESC HERE ...MOVING ON TO SECOND C-47...
TO GET LONGER FLIGHT TIME I use:
Turnigy nano-tech 3000mah 2S 25~50C Lipo Pack-and it's a good 30 minutes before my fingers get sore..and quit with juice left

DID you notice the thread between the steel and carbon fiber rod ??
D: make the Rear rod shorter by dialing IN 2 TURN(counterclockwise)
E: make the Rear rod longer by dialing OUT 1 TURN(clockwise)
Now-D. & E.-in effect, cause the rear blades to tilt a tit steeper than the front blades.
PLEASE,PLEASE-GO FOR A TEST FLIGHT before you want to commit any further modification. you will notice ,instead of flying level, the more you push the throttle, the more the front end get push down & the rear end stick higher. you just modified & create a 3D-C47 Heli-combine rudder and aileron control at full throttle- you forward top speed should be at approximately 20-30 KPH !! And the c_47 struggle no more at high wind-at least for me is true..But I didn't stop there.I went 2 steps further -IF you dare and confidence of your flying skill-please read on..
F. move the LONG push rod ball end down 1 hole at the FRONT lever(by the front gear)
G. move the LONG push rod ball end down 2 hole at the REAR lever(by the rear gear)
Step F & G ,in effect, differentiate the front/rear blades tilt angle even further-As I was flying it-The C47 body tilt even further at almost 30 degree angle with the front end way down-its not ONLY visually satisfying -But i believed i top out to approximately 60 KPH!!-traveling the same speed,if not more agile ,than my buddy's 0.28 CI nitro buggy try to catch me when i was

For those dare devils whom want to trade more speed for less stability, dare to modify to fly a fat, long, heavy c-47 like a 6 ch 3D heli-THIS IS THE FINAL PIECE...
you want more thrust at the rear motors than the front pair of motor, and you won't want to add more weight with complicated electronics to split more power to the rear(but it can be done-ask me here & I will tell you how) the most efficient solution is mechanical adjustment to the forward/ reverse servo and the related push rods to the front and back:
A. move push rod connector ball end for the FRONT DOWN 1 hole at the round servo plate(the round servo plate)
B. move push rod connector ball end for the REAR DOWN 1 hole at the round servo plate(the round servo plate)
AS a result: both A. and B. in effect, provide More proportional movement for ALL 8 blades to tilt forward to a steeper angle that translate to less top speed backward in exchange for more forward top speed. !!!NEVER EVER TOUCH THE LEFT/RIGHT SERVO AND RELATE PUSH ROD!!-as per CCPM design will make it unstable

Now....GO FOR A TEST FLIGHT AND SEE IF YOU CAN HANDLE THE SEMI-3D FLIGHT CHARACTER..GOOD LUCK....But... if you read on and do the followings-you can trade even LESS stability for MORE top speed:
C. move push rod connector ball end for the REAR FORWARD 1 hole at the round servo plate(the round servo plate)
DID you notice the thread betwe

I have been dreaming to take ownership of the other non-CNC version from Exceed RC since 2007.but at almost $200-I always end up clicking for a jet or twin props instead(subconsciously-i always want the GENUINE WALKERA TX/RX INSTEAD)..SO when it's priced under a hundred bucks.. ..it's Walkera.. ..its TOTALLY CNC from top to bottom.. ..it's the rare civilian northwest airline shell C-47. I just clicked and happily wait for the delivery. And b 4 it arrived- I clicked for 1 more few days later -ABSOLUTELY no regret, even before the pair arrived.
Naturally, it flies backward if you leave the right stick alone at any throttle position because the CG(at the middle between the 2 motor shafts) is a few mm toward the front ,don't worry here are the solutions-better yet combine all solutions then you can have it so neutral that hand free flying is possible( @ your own risk):
1. move the tail wheels foreword to the other pre drilled holes=20 improvement
2. move the battery forward until it touches the front wheels housing=another 30 improvement
At this point, the C-47 is fairly neutral already, but ONLY carry a top forward/backward speed of approximately 5-10 KM/hour. Don't be disappointed , this is how the flight character works:trading stability for speed .
You don't have to stop here: for those dare devils whom want to trade more speed for less stability, dare to modify to fly a fat,lo
