Hobbyking, via their somewhat difficult contact form, sent me the correct size at no charge and also without a shipping charge within a week. I can't complain about that. For the low cost of the part, there is not going to be a lot of profit to make, yet HK made good ASAP and probably at quite a loss, which earns them 5 stars in my book as they must have done this out of a concern for me the customer, as a matter of policy, in my case, a "customer first" policy. Much appreciated! As for the rod itself, they are just rods, but of course I measured all mine when I discovered one would not fit my build (they had shipped one 1.8mm rod), and they were all within a few hundredths of a millimeter of their stated dimension, which is just over a thousandth of an inch, no complaints.
