The Dancing Wings Hobby Boeing PT-17 Stearman is a detailed scale model of the pre-war military biplane trainer. The kit comes almost ready to fly and is constructed in balsa for a strong, lightweight, authentic structure. A lot of scale detail is supplied including, a dummy engine, scale landing gear, and a full accessory kit. It is also supplied with all the necessary hardware including scale rigging to complete the kit.
The full-size Boeing PT-17 Stearman was used during the Golden Era of aviation in the 1930s as a primary military trainer. After the war thousands of surplus airplanes were sold to the civilian market. They then became popular as crop dusters, and at airshow displays doing aerobatics and wing walking.
The Dancings Wings Hobby Boeing PT-17 is very straightforward to assemble but will require some previous experience. All the major components such as the fuselage, wings, horizontal stab, and vertical stab are built and covered, and a full decal sheet is supplied. You must supply your own brushless motor, ESC, servos, transmitter, receiver, and a LiPo battery. You will also require some tools and glue to complete the build.
