Replaced the speedcontroller and the propeller spinner. Could not find any instruction on how to program brake for the folding propeller and the spinner loosened at full throttle . Otherwise a very good build quality.

Following up on my first review of The HK Robin.
After adding an Alloy spinner and a better quality set of blades I have been able to reduce the additional nose weight to 20g of lead when running a 500mAh 2S battery. I recommend you use 800mA battery and an alloy spinner - that should put the CG somewhere near the recommended 44mm. I retained the poor quality clevises by removing the threaded clamping pins and replacing them with some small coarse screws which actually bite into the plastic and pinch the push rods as they should, I also added some bands made out of fuel tube to act as keepers to stop the clevises opening as they just don't clip together securely as they should! - I remade the push rods and added 6mm at the clevis end - they are now long enough to be safe. I've added quite a bit of cyano to ensure the aileron control horns don't fall out in flight. A small apology to HK on the reasoning behind the 2 small holes in the nose, they are there in order to access the grubscrews holding the motor to the mount. Looking forward to flying this, just waiting for a still evening so I can see exactly how the plane behaves before trying it out on a slope.

FAR TOO MANY FAULTS!

This COULD have been a nice little plane but it's let down badly by lack of thought and poor quality parts.
Where do we start?
The folding prop is a joke, I can't see it lasting more than a couple of flights - made of VERY brittle plastic poorly balanced and the spinner doesn't sit squarely over the blades, probably THE worst prop I've ever seen.
The Aileron push rods only just about reach the horns at the very end of their limit - They have the WORST quality clevises fitted, the screws which are supposed to retain them in place are only just able to clamp on to the very end of the piano wire and strip with the lightest pressure rendering them USELESS. The ply horns in the Aileron have little or no glue holding them in place - one fell out whilst I was trying to make the clevises fit. The canopy has no means of securing it - no attempt has been made at all to fit any magnets or mechanical fixings. There are 2 circular holes either side of the motor pod with no apparent purpose (unless they are for cooling but if they are they'way too small) they just make the plane look unfinished. The promo video recommended a 550mAh 2S sized battery which is far too light to balance the plane - I bought 4 x 500mAh 2S as they were the closest HK had in stock, turns out I could have used an 800mAh 2S and STILL have had to add lead to get the CG right! I HATE adding dead weight when I could have added additional flight time! The promo video also suggests that the wings and tail are detachable making the plane easy to carry - but the poor quality hardware won't stand dismantling and reassembly. The Wings are retained by 2 small cross headed bolts which thread into 2 retained brass fittings in the pod but don't exert too much pressure when tightening them as there are no washers provided and the wing itself is too soft to take any pressure, a couple of small nylon washers or better still a small plastic rectangle drilled at the right pitch would have solved that issue. The screws provided to secure the tail are very poor quality and will be replaced with some decent small stainless items, again no washers provided.
So I now have to make new push rods that will actually work and buy decent clevises to ft to them, source a DECENT prop, and buy more batteries.
I'm sure once I've put all of the faults right that this will be a half decent little flyer but at over £100 this is a VERY poor product from HK.

Nice Glider for the Money

I have not flown it yet, but if you catch in on sale, it's a great deal. Overall quality is good. Would have been nice if they cut the servo tray so that it could be easily converted to separate servos for each aileron, inside the fuse. Motor seems to be a version of the blue wonder. ESC is not marked. This Plane does look exactly like the Guppy ( I have one of each) only real difference is the motor and mount. They did a good job, just hard to attach the canopy at the front.
