Bought it RTR in sale for less than 80 euros :)
Great car with 2S 5000mAh packs, why go for 3S - seems too much to me.
Car is fast enough, and can do nice climbing.
Great starter, much better than my old Tamiya 1/10 buggies :) !
Bought this for the grandson for Christmas, lasted 1 & 1/2 batteries before it broke and been waiting 6 weeks for replacement parts, and judging by the other parts out of stock, will be waiting a lot longer. Don't buy this, spend a bit extra and get Tamiya, which you can get spares for anywhere.... It was good while it lasted, just not strong enough.Great buggy for the price. It does not run well on 3 cells, but does run well on 2. The ESC overheats on either battery, but still hasn't fried anything. Outside of the ESC, I would say the buggy is great.
I wouldn't really call it an 1/8 scale as it's about the same wheel base as my 1/10 scale trucks and doesn't used 1/8 wheels or tires.
I use it to entertain my dog and she still hasn't destroyed it.

Using 2 Cell 5200mah they are plenty fast and reliable. Run time was long. After jumping and cartwheeling they just kept on going. 4 batteries later we needed to tightened up the wheel nuts. More fun than 1/16 scale cars because they don't stop in the grass. The item came packaged well with a very good instructional manual. First impression what that this was a very good value for the money. The performance was astounding, the buggy moves quite fast and the setup is very good out of the box. After only running it for a very short time on open dirt with a little bit of a hill the unit went into what I assume was temperature cutoff. The esc had a foul smell of hot plastic and the motor was hot to the touch, much hotter than I would imagine something being ran for a short time (I was running a 3s 4400 20c battery). I am experienced with planes and 10th scale cars and this was the hottest I ever felt a motor outside of a failure. After picking it up I saw that the motor was loose. Upon disassembly I found that the chassis makes up the bottom of the differential boxes. The rear box had not been firmly seated and the gear box was packed full of sand. This was all from about 3-4 minutes of use. The screws securing the motor did not have thread locker. For a unit that was RTR this was extremely disappointing. The unit has potential but the obvious lack of quality control I would not recommend anyone running this thing out of the box without total disassembly, but then what is the point of an RTR?This is my second Rattler bought during cyber sale. 2S : good handling, quite fast for his size. Strong. 3S : ESC undersized so i have directly used a 120A. First problem : rear 12mm hex hub stripped, i have changed it for aluminum. Second problem : Rear diff. gear stripped. This two problems in less than 10min of use. I have changed diff. gear for SST 09302C and 09302b, work better. But i have bent a rear dog bone. With 3S the car is fast and handling isn't too bad. I like it with 3S. PRO : price, fun to drive, chassis quite strong. CON : only two planetaries in diff. ESC too weak for 3S. Dog bone too weak for 3S.Nice buggy with low centre of gravity and wide spaced wheels so very stable- large size really has presence and the graphics look impressive - nicely balanced so drives and jumps well - an excellent choice for bashing
