I added some RGB LED strips and Arduino to a Conscendo and didn't want to overload the ESC BEC. It works just fine!

I have had one of these for many years. I had no problem with it until I borrowed a pack with Deans connectors - but reverse polarity. There was a little hiss and a bit of smoke and then no output from the UBEC anymore.
There is a 470 microFarad 25V electrolytic capacitor across the battery terminals. This capacitor's plastic case/wrapping had a small split and the base disc was pushing out - consistent with an Electrolytic Capacitor being connected in reverse polarity. Even after the replacement of the capacitor, no signs of life from the UBEC.
Bottom line is, how can a device with an electrolytic capacitor across the input terminals be considered 'reverse polarity protected'? Seems to me it cannot and it should not claimed. Device is (was) fine for my purposes, and the price is okay. Just wish it *was* reverse polarity protected as it HobbyKing claims.
I will buy another but for others, this is a case of 'buyer beware'.

I was a little disappointed with this product. No problem with driving RX and five servos on fixed wing projects but I’m not sure if I would use them on flight control boards as on each of the units purchased the voltage output was below the 5v spec.

Value, but significantly weaker than advertised.

Nice small product for small price. But the output is quite noisy and not more than 3.75A at 5.2V. Consider whether it is good enough for your purposes.
