Lovely Plane and ideal first proper plane.

This was my first proper plane (non foamie) and I am very impressed with it.
Everything fitted together well and the instruction were nice and clear.
The covering is very very thick and tough and you get spare sheets of it for patching up holes.
I decided to try and go light weight with it and used a Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 4240-740kv motor which is on the small side but when fitted with a 12x8 apc prop its perfect.
I get a 1:1 power to weight ratio when useing a Graphine 3000mah 4s and a amp draw of 45a,the all up weight is 2.3kg.
It flies very well (for a learner like me) and looks great in the air.
5stars all round from me.

received cub today from Australia HobbyKing Warehouse packaged well .The construction of the model is quite good BUT...the hardware for the nylon control horn controls are not ideal for this size model as they push in and have to to CA Glued in place .I'mnot too keen on this and they should have included the nylon control horns with the set screws and nuts

would beef up the wing strut mounts and have a set screw and nut arrangement rather than them being held in by wood screws as the struts are load bearing i don't think being held in by wood screws is very safe would get ideas off the SIG 1/6th scale cub plans....
the wheels are too big in diameter and should be balloon wheels and slightly smaller in diameter .the wing looks to be the clipped wing version and could do with an extra wing panel or two in each wing to make it look more in proportion

i'm going for a 4 cell li poly and brushless motor to suit

the instructions are ok the model is made by VQ arf's
