Motor has nice power, just lacked a mount and a prop nut on delivery

Reason for purchase:
I still like to build my planes but as a dad of 3 I have to make every dollar worth something. I have been building a Sig 4Star 20 and I have been reviewing motors for a while now. I went with this one since it was reasonable, had a ton of power (Since it lacked writen details, I looked at the weight of the plane it's designed for, which is around 3 lbs, sig 4star 20 currently weighs in with battery at 2.1lbs). So with that knowledge I decided to go with this motor for the extra power for those oh sh** moments rescues for doing some sport flying.

Con's

On arrival, the package was missing the mount, screws for the mount and the Prop nut. Just be mindful if you order this for anything other than the plane it was intended for.
Hobby king took care of the situation and a mount is on it's way, not original but I found a match on HK.

For Knowledge the mount that works and I grabbed is the NTM28-ACC NTM Prop Drive 28 Series Accessory Pack - The mounting holes match perfectly and it gives you the better calet rather then a screw.

If you just want the mount, the carbin fiber one (NTM 28 Carbon Fibre Motor Mount with countersunk screws) works as well.

Pro's.

This motor has a lot of power. I haven't hoooked it up to the plane yet as I have a mount on order but at this time I tested it with a 10x6 master Airscrew prop with a 3S 35C battery, this puppy gave me 1311g of thrust or for the pounders 2.8lbs of thrust which is perfect.

- It has some decent ball bearings
- It weighs in at 4.6oz
- The cooling on the motor seems pretty good. The way the prop shaft is designed has sharper edges which seems to catch more air to cool the inner part better then a lot of the other motors I have used.
- The windings are on point. If you want something that is slap in ready for a 2 or 3lbs plane, this is a great start.


Hope this helps anyone looking at motors. I'll try back in a few months after some beating on the motor to see if it stands up to the higher priced motors.
