As this is the same mini hawk 3 by staufenbiel which sells for three times as much, no complaints of value that is why I have two of them. Quality is very good also just look out for broken wing tips (I think that was all old stock my second one was fine). I had to send my first one back but it was replaced no problems( I paid the return postage, it was about $17, outraged). Overall great model, flies like it's on rails. Used KS HV0903MG Slim Wing Servos all round which work well.

Part3
Flying time at full throttle: ca 3 minutes.
Expected lifetime of the plane at full throttle: 15-25, max 50 starts - sic!
Major failures: 1) Broken fuselage or fissures under cabin and wing due to high speed landings in the grass. 2) Exploded wing due to high g maneuvres (elevon max +- 3mm). 3) Burning ESC (min 70amp).
Be aware. Don't forget that you do these mods at your own risk. If you are not trained with high speed planes, ensure an acclimatization phase with slower planes first. Be prepared to land a heavy high speed plane. Even without motor it sails incredibly far.

Part2
Servos, small sized and strong: Dymond d60, Emax ds3302 or equivalent.
Angle of incidence: 0 deg. To master the plane at high speed it should by itself fly straight horizontally, up and down. Thus correct the wing angles as follows. Wing: Put 7-9 layers of heavy tape (0.1mm thick) on top of each other just behind the wing screw to reach a distance of 3.5mm (!) between the tail side of the wing and the fuselage. Elevon: Put 1-2 layers of heavy tape under the front part of the elevon wing.
Flying weight: ca 1000gr.
Flying speed: Very fast. Tell me.

Part1
Motor: Dr Mad Thrust 2950, 3300kv/1100w/4s.
Battery: Turnigy nano tech, 4s, 2200mAh, 45-90A. Block the battery with a foam cube of 2x2x1cm you glue into the fuselage through the wing bay at the battery's end according to the CG (45mm).
ESC: Red Brick 70amp with BEC. This big and rugged ESC comes with too short cables for our purposes. Lengthen them to place the ESC as far behind as you can in the fuselage - eg behind the wing. This saves you the space you need to place or remove the battery throughout the cockpit. Put the receiver even farther back in the fuse as the ESC.
Prop: Fix prop, APC style, 5x5 or 4.75x4.75. The harder the better.
Spinner: Alloy e-Prop, 4mm. Don't bother about the aerodynamics.

Reçue emballé dans de la mousse et sans dommage dans un carton costaud et trés compact.



N'ayant aucune information de CG, j'ai contacté le Live Chat un "spécialiste produit" qui n'a pu exaucer ma demande comme toutes les autres demandes que j'ai pu faire par le Live Chat, qui n'existe que pour vous dire qu'ils sont d'accord mais n'apporte aucune solution !

Un comble sachant que ce modèle est vendu depuis quelques années par Hobby King et le prix du modele !



La finition du planeur est trés correct, mais aucune information dans le carton concernant le CG, l'implantation des servos...



Les chapes livrés dans le kit sont inutiles car la qualité est médiocre et trop longue pour un montage dans les ailes...

Finalement, par manque de place dans les espaces prévu pour le montage des servos dans les ailes, j'ai dû coller les servos a l’époxy comme celui de la profondeur.

J'ai dû rajouter des rallonges de servo auto sécurisé de 30 cm. (X3)



J'ai mis un moteur 35mm (celui préconisé étant une fois de plus indisponible) qui passe tout juste et qui offre l'avantage d'avoir un axe de 5mm et de pouvoir mettre un cône de 40mm (seul disponible).

Le cône dépasse de 2 mm de chaque côté mais n’influe apparemment pas sur le vol.

J'ai dû mettre une cale pour aligner le stabilisateur sur l'aile.



Le montage est simple mais demande d'être très méticuleux.



Le SET UP est une version ECO mais fonctionne déjà pas mal :
