Have logged over 20 hours of flight time on my Shark X6 flight controller with no problems. Position hold is accurate within 2 feet horizontal and 1-2 feet vertical. Return to home is flawlessly reliable. The only issue I have is that the compass heading on the OSD reads backwards. I have a second unit now that has the same problem. Must be a firmware glitch and I wish I knew how to fix it. Not really an issue that affects performance though but the only reason I gave it 4 stars for quality. I am flying it on a 450 size quadcopter and enjoying it. I wish there was customer support for Big Fly Shark.

No manuals or software supplied. After reading reviews/discussions found others had same issues. Found software and firmware. But old. Got firmware installed, got working on PC. The accelerometer will not set to zero, motor tests are intermittent. The company who made these closed the website April last year so no support. Got compass, gyro and everything working except the accelerometer, motors will initialize but motors will not go. Very hard product to use with no support for issues and little info on led codes.

nice value for the price during spring sale (around USD 50). Works well and tested with s500 quad x. Tested the following functions and all worked well: alt hold (no gps), gps hold, balance mode, RTH. Not tested the other functions because one of my esc failed but has nothing to do with the FC. I use the power module from this board to power because it has voltage alarm (red LED flashing several times). I did not tune anything yet and the result is quite stable (small wobble on Z axis).

Good economical Flight Controller

I purchased this in the recent warehouse clearance from the EU Warehouse.
I’ve seen quite a few folk have had issues getting this to connect to a PC.
First of all when updating the Firmware you need to use the Offline update tool, not the flight tools software. First connect the USB without a battery. Next select the firmware file to upload. Now connect the battery and select upgrade.
I’m running the latest, as of March 2018, W10 and I’ve not had any issues connecting.
To connect to FlightTools you need to have a valid PWM signal from a receiver to the F.C. First connect a battery to the F.C. and the LED module should start to flask through the various colours. Now connect the USB to you PC. FlightTools will respond with the chain icon changing to green and the status message “Get Parameter OK” and a flight time clock advancing. Now you can configure and calibrate the flight controller.
By today’s standards the F.C. is quite dated but the GPS acquisition is quite fast, even from indoors.

after newest v2 firmware - great!

I load the new v2 firmware on the FC and can now use the Flight Tools 2.3 Software. On my OrangeRx R615X I have to change AUX1 and GEAR. The RTH Mode is perfect.

Can only connect using windows 7 computer but no update. Can somenone tell what is the latest version of firmware that will work? I have not flashed yet. The latest file i found is from 2015.

I can only 'see' the controller in old version of fc tools (X8_Assistant 1.4), but not update. It works only on my sons old windows 7, not windows 10. Before flashing (and maybe bricking it), can someone tell witch firmware will work on this version one? is this version Firmware SHARKX6 V1 for CX20 Ver151? kind regards, paul@webstekje.be

Very easy to install and setup, great quality with all extras you need included.
Extremely stable flight on my TBS Discovery, all modes work very well as described.
Be sure to update to the latest firmware.
Very good unit that works exactly as described.
